About this deal

Monitoring via the headphone jack sounds fine, and the onboard speaker is a reasonable option for setup purposes, but the H1’s fidelity is only fully appreciated once recordings are transferred into your DAW and listened to through a decent setup. That makes an adittional mixing desk or a headphone amplifier, however small, for the purpose of monitoring, completley obsolete! This gave us the ability to plug in some headphones and monitor the sound in real time while we were recording. Cookies collect information about your preferences and your devices and are used to make the site work as you expect it to, to understand how you interact with the site, and to show advertisements that are targeted to your interests.

In the other hand if you want to record a direct signal for instance coming from a mixer or sound card, you do not have a line inputs. Since the Zoom-9002 (an ultra-compact multi-effects processor that can be attached to a guitar strap) was introduced in 1990, Zoom has become one of the leaders in digital audio processing. Some MP3 files exhibit a slight loss of audio fidelity as compared with the original signal; however, this is not noticeable in allcircumstances. The H1's built-in X/Y microphone provides two matched unidirectional microphones set at a 90 degree angle relative to one another, optimum for most stereo recordingapplications. We advise you to update to a currently supported browser (such as Chrome, Edge, or Firefox) to improve your security, speed, and overall experience.

Using the Zoom H1n with condenser mics, lapel mics, or shotgun mics changes the dynamic of the audio file it captures. Just above the LCD display is an analog input volume knob to control recording levels, which is an excellent feature—instead of using buttons to control volume, the knob is a nice silent way to adjust on the fly while recording is in progress. It also allows the H1 to be used as a 2-in/2-out audio interface and USB microphone, as well as a microSD card reader. I find the on/off switch weird - it is a slide that you have to hold for a second or two until the machine boots up/ powers down.

On the back of the H1 are slider switches for selecting Low Cut (for low end or rumble filtering), Auto or Manual input level control and the choice between MP3 or Wav recording formats. bit audio recording is better than CD quality, meaning you get clearer audio and the ability to hear the finer details in the sound. Take it with you wherever you go—live concerts and band rehearsals, location video shoots, lectures and meetings—or use it to capture your musical ideas whenever inspirationstrikes.

Zoom claims that the H1n can run for about 10 hours on fresh batteries (which is great for creators that are on the go) or it can be powered by your own external battery pack connected to its USB port.

And at another day conference, I put it on an extra mic stand by the people on stage speaking, to record their talks.Recording music, ambient sounds, and speech is quick and easy thanks to the device's simple menu navigation, and the quality of the recordings is impeccable thanks to the sophisticated technology it employs. For X/Y or other types of recording, you can connect a pair of external microphones or line level signal to the H1's Mic/Line Input mini phone jack. The ICD-UX560 also has a lithium battery that is rated at 27 hours depending on the style of recording and playback, which is considerably longer than the Zoom H1n. When held down, the “Stop” button reveals a secondary menu with features like “Auto Record,” “Pre-Record,” “Self Timer” and “Sound Mark.
