The module is designed to take player characters from 1st level to 5th level; 5th level is the starting level for Light of Xaryxis. Like, EVERYTHING that was written on making your own Wildspace System can be shortened to "idk, do whatever and maybe take some inspiration from the two systems in the adventure", which by the way barely have a single page of description each. Between new spaceship combat rules, player races, and an astral adventure check out our thoughts on this collection. While this isn’t a miserly amount of content, in some respects it feels like we could really have done with the full 256 pages (more on that later). This new collection, titled Spelljammer: Adventures in Space, will contain three books and will be available on August 16th, 2022.

Of course, mileage will vary depending on how efficient or rambunxious your players are but for a taste of a space adventure, 12 sessions seem just the right amount of time to enthrall players while not overstaying the welcome. This can allow players to simply walk to the underside of the ship, or if free-floating would alternate falling upwards, and then falling downwards until you'd come to rest on the plane of gravity. In addition, DMs will find tools to build and run combat encounters, manage campaigns, and create and discover homebrew content.Everything from player options for spacefaring characters, rules for exploring the Astral Sea, an adventure that takes characters from levels 5-8, and a galaxy's worth of new creatures are now yours to discover!

All in all, we’re impressed and consider it a campaign well worth your time adventuring in, especially if you want to get a sense for how to run a Spelljammer campaign. Spelljammer’s best feature (its potential for weird) is overlooked in favour of yet another adventure about the political dealings of elves.Meet a new NPC, fulfil a (usually combat-based) task for them to gain their allyship, and discover you need to go meet a new NPC who has the next piece of information you need to further the story – rinse and repeat five or six times.

They could have still included the astral plane by making the stars portals to the astral plane, and have the astral sea a more populated place, but keep the phlogiston.

the math to leave a planet seems off; it states that a 5,000 mile planet has roughly an air envelope/gravity of around 5,000.Unfortunately, this book is where Spelljammer: Adventures in Space really shows why it should have been a full 256 page setting book.
