I've saved tiny pots to scoop cleanser and moisturiser into; for hair care, I've opted for MUJI Travel Bottles that are lightweight yet can hold enough product for a week or two away (if I eek it out). I'm excited to take this bag with me on longer trips where I'm certain it'll make packing a whole lot easier.

The way this carrier was designed, it’s easiest to access all the toiletries inside when it’s hanging. The snap loop is useful for pinning it to your bag but the pillow itself is an awkward shape and quite bulky so I only pack this for long journeys when I know I'll need to sleep. It can be a struggle to pack everything you need while adhering to travel regulations without leaving a trail of waste behind you; although there are some tips and tricks that make it easier. The cubes offer the perfect balance of toughness and transparency – one side is opaque, while the other has a transparent mesh panel.

If you’re the type of person who brings an outfit for every occasion and several backups just in case, you’re going to need a lot of packing cubes. Some sets are cheaper, but since you’re making (what should be) a one-off investment, we suggest you spend a little more on packing cubes that display quality and durability – oh, and are easy on the eye if that’s important to you. That said, we struggle to believe there’s a jet-setter who wouldn’t be impressed with the Snugpak pakbox, which ticks all the boxes. Generous zips (on three sides of each cube) mean easy access, and although we’re aware this next factor has zero effect on performance, we loved the bright-orange hue. Another excellent attribute of the Muji hanging travel case is the part that makes it hang: the hook.

Colour aside, we also loved this one for its toughness, its sustainability (courtesy of Bluesign-approved fabrics) and the extra-large fabric handle.Avoid the trauma of laundry loss by simply placing items in one of these quick-drying bags before putting the entire shebang in the washing machine.
