About this deal

There is no baking required; simply design your model and then allow for 24 hours per centimetre to dry. Don't expect it to hold fine detail well and expect the texture to be a bit weird/off putting if you are new to using it. was pleasantly surprised, used poster paint powders to colour some as opposed to painting the finished item, worked much the same as coloring fondant icing.

You can also take advantage of this clay by creating sculptures, with wires and polystyrene shapes to help you structure and pose your creations, smoothing it out with water as you go.

I've used the polymer clays for many years which require baking, wanted to see how air dried clay compared. it's great for young kids who are wanting to mould and craft things out of clay but not brilliant for proffesional use. I would say, small to medium simlpvm sculptures are best, but overall, a nice product, very cost effect and sturdy for small scale work . Once you've finished modelling, simple leave it to air-dry to a hard, durable, matt finish, then you can sand, paint or drill it, as well as paint it with acrylic colours. Daler-Rowney DAS Modelling Clay is an air-drying clay that you can use for just about any craft purpose.

The clay is ready to use and once you've finished modelling, simply leave it to air-dry to a hard, durable, matt finish, then you can sand, paint or decorate it for the perfect finishing touch. Polymer clay, also known as oven-bake clay, is a versatile clay that’s great for beginner and expert crafters who want a high-quality finish that will harden once baked at home.

I make jewellery dishes, Christmas decorations and fridge magnets and it's a fabulous material to be working with. I have been surprisingly wowed by how good this clay was with both mould and hand making items I have made fine bits and has shown no cracks as I had left it to dry Naturally.

We believe that giving children the right materials, they will make and play with beautiful things that last a lifetime.Whatever you're moulding the clay into, you'll be able to add the perfect finishing touches and finer details. An easy modelling material to work with, this clay moulds easily and dries to a firm and strong finish.

Also cracking and loss of detail can be an issue at times with shrinkage (10-15%), but that can be said for most air drying clay products. It’s not great for fine detail modelling as the texture is quite rough before it dries, and trying to make small details doesn’t really work.
