About this deal

There are a lot of characters and plot threads that need to come together in the one central location where the bear is so maybe it was a time issue to get everything in – at 95 minutes, a movie like this does not need to be any longer – and as the central premise revolves around cocaine the filmmakers have to get the anti-drugs message in during the final act, but despite this Cocaine Bear never quite feels comfortable with its own premise, like it doesn’t know whether to keep things on the (relatively) sensible side of things – after all, it is based on a true story – or embrace its absurdities and go for it. Maybe not quite best in class as say something like The Matrix Resurrections, but very good nonetheless. The detail is sharp and vivid as well with great closeups that reveal individual hairs, acne, pores, makeup applications, gory entrails and bone, and some wider shots of the wooded landscape. Not that the kills aren’t fun because they are, the combination of practical gags and CGI enhancement working well (two words – ambulance chase! Other side plots involving the drug smugglers, led by Syd (the late Ray Liotta who gets a loving tribute during the film's end credits) and his knuckle-headed minions tasked with retrieving their lost packs of cocaine, a lovestruck Park ranger ( Margo Martindale), a pair of hapless medics, and a various and sundry assortment of hikers, park visitors, and guests make it somewhat entertaining to guess which will be the next to stare down the powdered nose of this coked up cocaine freak.

There are about 30 minutes of bonus material included here with an audio commentary, a blooper reel, interviews, behind-the-scenes and more. Doing Lines – Cast and filmmakers read lines from the script to COCAINE BEAR, which was a work of art unto itself. I do not like the movies she has directed (and recently starred in), and I disagree with her politics as well. The score is spread out really nicely and many of the more action-intense scenes have some fantastic channel separation as well. Turn off your mind, relax, and let the absurdity reign with this gory dark comedy, which looks and sounds great on Blu-ray.And much hilarity ensues as the fairly serious combination of a worried mother looking for her missing children, an angry drug dealer looking for his stash and a dogged detective hoping to make an arrest clashes head-on with the idea of a huge wild bear off its nut on cocaine. Thankfully, Banks keeps the action rolling along at a quick pace so one never has time to think too hard about discrepancies or, you know, suspension of disbelief. Sit back, relax and have a good time watching a group of folks trying to avoid getting eaten by a bear high on cocaine. aspect ratio that also utilises 10-bit video depth, WCG and a HDR10 grade (no Dolby Vision), all of which has been encoded using the HEVC/H. Description: Inspired by the 1985 true story of a drug runner's plane crash, missing cocaine, and the black bear that ate it, this wild dark comedy finds an oddball group of cops, criminals, tourists, and teens converging in a Georgia forest where a 500-pound apex predator has ingested a staggering amount of cocaine and gone on a coke-fueled rampage for more blow—and blood.

Finally, the disc’s compression, while a little all over the place seems to average out at the mid-70s mbps and seemed to be perfectly handled, with no artefacting or any other blocking of the image noticeable throughout. There's nothing super deep or preachy here (aside from a bit about bad dads where Alden Ehrenreich's character sees he's not being a good dad to his son based on how his own father treats him), just a good time about a bear killing people while coked out of its mind. There’s a lot of appreciable depth and excellent, deep, strong bass response noticeable throughout the movie as well.
