About this deal

The discovery of a decades old cold case of missing 17-year-old Tess Dawson grabs her attention and she dives in to try and uncover what really happened. The novel jumps between 1987 and 2018, where we hear from the missing teen and current time Katherine. Slowly the story reveals itself and the secrets the town has tried to bury for 30 years. As expected, nothing is as it seems. The Lowbridge Estate lies six miles north of Kendal in the Lake District National Park, England, off the A6 road. [2]

Townsin, Alan A. and Senior John A. (1979). The Best of British Buses No.1 Leyland Titans 1927–42. Glossop: Transport Publishing Company. p.59. ISBN 978-0-903839-56-3.However it was the 2018 timeline that gripped me, mostly due to the incredible character of Katherine. The heart wrenching portrayal of a woman who has lost her only child and her daily struggle of living a life without her. It was raw and difficult to read at times but so beautifully written. Among the new features was the E181 7.4-litre engine, which was a development of a pre-war 6.2-litre unit used in some TS8 Tigers and the sole LS1 prototype. The revised bore dimensions came from the version used in later models of the Matilda tank. It was a six-cylinder pushrod OHV unit, which developed 100bhp at 1.800 rpm and 328 lb ft of torque at 1,150 rpm. These were slightly better figures than the larger pre-war design 8.6-litre OHC engine, but fuel economy was also superior, although it was a much harsher-sounding engine. The TD7's flexible engine mounting was not 100% successful and so the PD1 reverted to a rigid engine mounting. The gearbox was a four-speed and reverse constant-mesh unit, with helical gear trains for second and third gear. Brakes, as standard, were triple-servo vacuum. A new, larger, radiator was fitted and its filler-cap was offset to the nearside to allow the driver's cab to be wider, the nearside windscreen pillar running down the vehicle centre-line. [18] I'm not giving any of the plots away, as it's a fabulous and gripping read, and I want you to find out yourselves! Another excellent debut from an Australian author brought to us by Ultimo Press UK. We then interviewed everybody in the area who owned a grey A55 and we tried to talk to every male who lived in the Walsall area - there was no shortlist, we had no suspects, we didn't have a clue who had done it."

There are 33,818,578 women (16+) in the UK. Of those, about 1.1% are lesbians. From that, we can estimate that there about 372,004 lesbian women in total. The BBC article in discussion today sampled just 80 lesbians for it's data. That's 0.0215051451% of the relevant population.A ripper of a debut and an entertaining read that will have you hooked wanting to discover what happened to Tess Dawes! Themes of abuse, poverty, drugs, loss of a child and women’s rights.

The "statistics" on which the article is based is a survey conducted within the TERF community claiming trans women are predators. https://t.co/pEhREdKd34 I love a dual timeline and one set in the 80’s (the best decade in my opinion) was always going to be a time I could relate to as I was also a teenager then. Although design work on the PD2 had started during wartime under the working title "9.8-litre TD9" it was much more than a PD1 with a bigger engine, the frame was completely redesigned, with the longitudinal members carefully graded in depth so that no part was overstressed nor over-engineered. The 600 was fitted into the chassis on a three-point flexible mounting and after a larger clutch unit the new gearbox which still had helical gear trains in second and third now also had synchromesh operation on all but first and reverse, a pioneering feature in a full-size production British bus chassis. [27] Preserved Leyland PD2/1 BHL 682 Lowbridge has authentic Australian crime written all over it. I immediately felt like this book was almost a true crime, not a fiction tale. Lucy Campbell’s debut is definitely one that has catapulted her into the category of rural Australian crime fiction, a genre that continues to flourish. I really hope we hear more from Lucy Campbell, she is a fantastic new voice in Australian fiction. Townsin, Alan A. and Senior John A. (1979). The Best of British Buses No.1 Leyland Titans 1927–42.
