About this deal

I realize that the O11 Dynamic Mini has been out for over a year at this point (see above re: stubbornness/stupidity), but I was recently given a build problem and the O11D Mini looked like the solution. My best friend’s son came to me a few weeks ago wanting to build a new PC, and talked about wanting to get into water cooling. He doesn’t have a tremendous amount of desk space available at the moment, but he wanted a high end gaming machine that he could also use for streaming and video editing. c) Filters have a very significant effect on air flow ... which can range up to 30% when "moderately clogged with dust. Lets say your anal about cleaning and use 80% The main chamber can house the motherboard along with the GPU and your cooling components. The case is targeted towards water cooling and it would be a delight for the water cooler lovers with ample rooms to play around.

Now, if you prefer your motherboard to face right instead of left, the bottom panel can be removed and swapped with the top panel. One gripe is that the bottom panel's dust filter is the only one in the system and, being held in place with magnetic strips at its edges, is prone to falling off during handling. In this area, you'll also note additional square holes near two corners that allow the front-panel module to be relocated to either side. The interior of the case is indeed crafted with utmost care to each thing. The case doesn’t come with front ventilation but it can accommodate 3x120mm fans on the side and bottom and 3x120mm on top or 2x140mm on top. It is a dual-chamber design case that one can use for a neat and clean setup keeping all the cable and the unnecessary things hidden from the main chamber. However, the best thing that I am in love with this case is the side panel mechanism where there are no visible screws to mount the glass panel. All the mounting procedure is worked in the top and then is covered by the top panel that again comes with captive thumbscrews. ExteriorLian Li says the O11D EVO supports Extended ATX (EATX) motherboards up to 11 inches deep, but the full spec for EATX is 13 inches, and motherboards that fall between that size and ATX get labeled in a confusing manner. Our build shows there's plenty of room for motherboards of nearly any depth as long as the radiator mount on the side is left empty. Of course, using that mount is key to making this case look spectacular. The Lian Li O11 Dynamic Midi Tower can fit an E-ATX motherboard in the left chamber, a graphics card up to 420 mm in length as well as a CPU cooler that is up to 155 mm in height. When it comes to the installation of AiO- or custom water cooling, the case offers the possibility of installing up to three 360 mm radiators at the same time: On in the top, one at the bottom and one next to the motherboard. To that end the motherboard tray has been angled to the right in comparison to earlier designs. Air inlets are located on the front right hand side of the case. These ensure that heat produced by high-end components is dissipated efficiently and effectively.

Yes you have to let go of that day in 8th grade earth science when we were by chance paying attention when teacher taught us "hot air rises" ... while there is a gentle rise in an indisturbed environment, that axiom does not apply when the air in your case is doing a 100% changeover every 0.5 to 1.5 seconds. This is simple math:d) Your engine compartment gas a fan (or 2) bringing air into the engine compartment ... is there another one somewhere to get it our ? Unfortunately, I’m a bit stubborn. Like so many people in the world, I often let my desire for uniqueness get the better of me. I had this “everyone is building in that case” mentality, so I’ve gone out of my way to avoid it. Let it never be said that stubbornness and stupidity did not have a link, because if the O11 Dynamic Mini is typical of the other der8auer badged cases, I’ve really been missing out (or possibly stupid).

Lian Li O11 Dynamic EVO - Review 2022 - PCMag UK

If you opt for the front mesh panel and upright GPU, then the Lian Li O11D EVO is going to have phenomenal airflow. With a fine mesh, these panels have been optimised for thermal performance as well acting as dust filters. The upright GPU allows unprecedented and direct airflow to the graphics card and CPU, that can be further boosted by three 120mm fans. Alternatively, the upright GPU placement also allows for amazing customisation for water cooling. Simpler and more efficient tubing can reach hardware without restriction, which in turn helps the radiators to perform more effectively. The Lian Li O11Dynamic XL Full-Tower offers a tonne of space for powerful gaming hardware. Even the huge ROG Dominus Extreme EEB motherboard from Asus can be installed with the help of an additional accessory from Lian Li. Graphics cards can be up to 446 mm in length, with CPU coolers up to a height of 167 mm also fitting. An ATX form factor power supply can be installed in an upright orientation in the left side of the rear, power supplies up to 210 mm in length will fit. So looking at the front panel display, we are able to examine and record Delta T across a radiator as one varies, fan rpm, pump rpm, flow direction ... push or pull mounting. And it's immediately obvious .... Even though the O11D EVO has no fans of its own, it still flows enough air through our radiator to place between the quiet-design SilverStone Seta Q1 and two fan-equipped gaming cases, the Cooler Master HAF 500 and the Corsair iCUE 5000T... I didnt wanan clog the post with big boxes ... so copy the link and delete the spaces after the double slashShould you prefer vertical or, the more traditional, horizontal mounting, then AiO cooling is the best option. There is support for three radiators and up to ten fans across the chassis. In both Normal and Reverse modes, up to a 360mm radiator can be mounted on the top, side, and bottom, with the latter two having support for 280mm models, also. Depending on radiator size, up to three 120mm or two 140mm fans can be installed in the same areas, with the tenth being a 120mm fan on the rear. Dual-Chamber, Sleek Interior Since it's designed to be equipped with the user's choice of hardware, including fans, the Lian Li 011D EVO presented a slight testing challenge in terms of comparing it to cases delivered with a loadout of their own fans. It overcame that challenge by flowing sufficient air in "exhaust only" mode using nothing more than the same closed-loop cooler that we'd used to evaluate those other cases. As with the drive mounts found throughout the rest of the case, drives are secured using rubber grommets and shoulder screws. Sitting inside a second power supply mount, the removable drive cage includes two trays for 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch devices plus a set of 2.5-inch mounting points in its lid. The O11 is designed for more than just adding a few fans, though. We'd recommend a more elaborate build with three 120mm intake fans on the bottom, since that's where the dust filter is located, plus some kind of radiator and fan combo on the top to aid in voltage-regulator cooling.

Overall, maybe we're overthinking it. The O11D EVO's prime customers are show-system builders who regularly blow their PCs out with compressed air. You could possibly boost the case's practicality by using higher-flow fans on the bottom or ignoring the side radiator mount, but, after all, we're looking at a case that can support more drives than most people own. For builders who use the side drive mount instead of radiators, this chassis could be the best of both "show-off" and "storage."The front-panel light bar is powered by a SATA-style lead that's too short to photograph within the case-cable group below... GPU temperature testing: Unigine Heaven set to Ultra Detail, Extreme Tesselation, and 8x Anti Aliasing at 1440p for 30 minutes. Remember that grille and slot covers are an important part of case air flow design ... you don't need to have a gan pushing out every cfm of air being pushed in... The 1st law of water cooling is "never mix metals"... aka eliminate 99% of CLCs from consideration. The second law is "radiator fans always blow in. The O11 Dynamic is a great PC chassis with tons of room around to work around. However, it has a limitation of the exhaust due to the absence of a rear fan mount making it a bit harder for those who are going to use a CPU air cooling solution, furthermore, the O11 dynamic has a limitation of 120mm fans everywhere except for that of the top, which could optionally fit two 140mm. However, the O11 Dynamic XL does offer a dedicated rear exhaust fan alongside the option to have room for 140mm fans both at the top and bottom.
