I've sampled this fragrance at work, and I have to say I'm really not a fan. Just based off of the profile it looks like something I would really enjoy so I'm beyond disappointed that this isn't something I would wear.
Just so suddenly I kinda like it, ???, sumething has happened over all these ys, it's just not any cowabonga yet, but, it's starting to get more and more cuddellling... and it looks like I'm starting to fell in love again!! It smells as I remember - soft, inviting, cozy, elegant. It's like the gray cashmere sweater of fragrances. To some, it might seem boring. But to me it's classic, timeless, and versatile, and works in most situations: at home, brunch with friends, a casual dinner out with my husband, running errands. It's also a great office fragrance. I am saving for the NR but i guess i'll use the money to get this and even can get another perfume!Don’t get me wrong… It is a nice perfume, but it is just nice. The opining is unexpected and sharp, the base is nice and musky. I do like the fact that the musk is fluffy and doesn’t smell synthetic like The Body Shop White Musk. I can not stand White Musk. I tried this about 10 years ago and I wasn't sure about it. I decided to revisit some more affordable fragrances.
If you think about getting this one instead of Narciso for her EDT or EDP please try them side by side on skin first; while this is very similar, the price does make Narciso more worth it for me tbh; this comes across a bit more "older lady" while Narcisos are pretty ageless. Narcisos last the whole day too while this lasted about 4 hours on me. I really Admire Sarah and I have to put it to her the way she creates her fragrances she works closely with the perfumers and know what she likes. I know the oils and perfumes she used to mix before making Lovely smelled more like her 2016 release Stash (one of the best perfumes PERIOD) and that she wanted a unisex type of smell and Lovely is a bit more polite than what she usually would dose herself in, but this to me is completely unisex. As I said it smells like clean warm salty skin with that cosy musk vibe that I think anyone can pull off if they wish to.
You just have to get past that initial nasty head and it’s not a perfume you could just spray on your clothing. I feel super clean when I wear this. But at the same time I’m reminded of laundry so not really the vibe I’m going for. This is definitely a fresh perfume though, something that is nice to wear in the summer maybe. Idk. It’s not what I reach for in my daily life!
Lovely is a soft, powdery, discreet, and very intimate fragrance, announced as a "silky white amber fragrance." It possesses an elegance characteristic of classic fragrances, and yet the fragrance is quite modern and very charming. I don't understand how this gets in any way compared to Narciso Rodrigues For Her EDP. Retrieved April 14, 2018.My only complaint (and the reason I've rated it as a like instead of love) is that the staying power isn't as good as I remember. It feels like this might have been reformulated over the years and the performance is weaker than I would like. There's not a lot of sillage (if you want it for a work fragrance, this isn't a bad thing necessarily) and it does require topping up through the day. I think that, what I initially thought was horrible, was the acrid permeation of the bergamot. But the drydown, especially after about an hour, is - wow - sublime. And, I mean, SUBLIME. And lastly...yes...it is the cheaper (98% identical beautiful smell) of Narciso Rodriguez For Her. Give it a try everyone. Smells absolutely "Lovely" as it's perfectly named. I was hesitant to get this as a replacement for Narciso Rodriguez for her, but it honestly is a dead on dupe for a fraction of the price. I will say it is ever so slightly sharper, probably due to the lavender, yet also smells like a more feminine and younger version of Narciso. If you are wondering which one to get and short on money, get this 100%. Unbelievably beautiful perfume for the price. There is a strong alcoholic blast at first though so wait for that to dry down.
Sarah Jessica Parker really gifted us with a beautiful, timeless and lovable perfume you can wear every day.
I immediately see her wearing the tulle ballerina tutu like dress that was just a puff of soft ballet pink.
