Seriously who has like 5 povs in the first installment of a series? This is clearly evident from the fact that she has on several occasions admitted to having fun with the characters who she create in her books for her audiences. For instance, in her book, midnight rescue, she admits to being very fond of Morgan’s mercenaries expressing her love for their tight knit bond including the close relationship between Abby and her fellow female colleagues. Elle has also admitted how much fun it is to explore the dynamics between all her characters while writing.

there were too many POVs. this book is about RJ and Sloane. It was nice to see from the other characters povs but they weren’t really adding much to the plot (other than fenn sometimes) Misfit, the latest from one of my favorite romance authors, Elle Kennedy, is a fun, steamy prep school novel for fans of Gossip Girl and Pretty Little Liars. I’ve read a handful of her other books and they’re all 4-5 star reads. This one was a 1 star until like 60% which is when stuff finally started happening.

Wow, that’s a lot of perspectives and it’s a wonder you didn’t get confused 🤔 I completely agree–there should have been a prequel instead of all those povs. Glad you were able to still find it somewhat enjoyable. Great review 💋 ❤ (I’m still intrigued by the blurb lol) The problem with this book is it seemed like Elle was experimenting with other writing styles. For example: every other book she’s written is just the POVs of the 2 main characters. This one every rando side character got their own POV. I get the idea get you familiar with the character before they get their own standalone to “make you eager to read theirs”… but it didn’t work out. They should have just been strong enough side characters we’d want to read their stand alones, not everyone needs to be a main character in every book. This book should have only focused on Sloan and RJ, this was their story. Kennedy wanted a spectrum of stories that happened all over this prep school universe? Well, she could’ve just focused on the mmc and fmc and THEN wrote the next mmc and fmc ON THE NEXT BOOK. Small introductions about everyone would’ve sufficed.she was ranked 1st place in the Golden Rose contemporary for her amazing work in the book titled “Dance of Seduction”. Wat een bizar boek. Ik heb geen woorden voor hoe bizar. Ik heb in geen tijden zoiets problematisch gelezen. En in 2023????? Bizar, haha. The ruling king of Sandover will stop at nothing to get rid of his competition. If RJ wants to survive prep school and win Sloane's heart, he'll need to get people on his side - and fast.
