This EVER ADVANCED Oversized XXL Folding Camping Cot has an incredible weight capacity of 550 lb (250 kg), so you realize why I have added it here in the list. With a weight capacity of 400 lb (181 kg) capacity, this cot deserves to be here. But this is a very wide cot and I have added it to my list of extra-wide camping cots.The bed size is 78.7 x 35.5 inches (200 x 90 cm) and you realize that it is also very long. The cot is a bit heavy, it weighs15.8 lb (7.2 kg), but this looks quite normal for such a capacity. Please read more in my full review. There are military-style cots in the list as expected, those are usually with the biggest capacity. But you should know that there are also express setup cots.

Fold-out beds are ideal for people who struggle to get up and down from a mattress or sleeping pad placed directly on the ground. Furthermore, a fold-out bed can offer a small amount of underside storage space in some cases. However, we think it’s worth sacrificing that space for a bed with criss-crossed legs as these offer increased stability. Elevated fold-out camp beds provide additional underside storage, which is helpful in a tent with limited space. The name of this Sierra Cot 440 tells you why I have included it in the list – the number 440 describes its huge capacity. But this is also a very wide cot with a bed width of 34 inches (86 cm), and it is extra long with 82 inches (208 cm) total length. So I have included it in my list of extra-wide camping cots. Coleman are one of our favourite outdoor gear manufacturers and the Coleman Airbed Cot is a great example of exemplary design. It’s a double camp bed using what we would call a hybrid folding/inflatable design – basically the base can fold away small and the mattress is fully inflatable. In our minds this gives the best combination of portability and comfort if there are two of you to cater for and you don’t mind snuggling up together! Coleman also offer a single bed option at about half the price using a similar layout.
