About this deal

Short LTE antennas can be unplugged and can be connected to the network (but then we will not get MIMO 4x4) On my B535 I had all sorts of issues when using the LAN/WAN port for my switch that didn't appear when using a LAN only port. I deduced (eventually) that this was because my B535 was trying to receive an internet connection from my switch rather than send the internet connection to the switch. This may be what you are seeing when experiencing an "all or nothing" connection. The more painful bit was that I couldn't see any way of reverting the b818 to router mode without doing a factory reset, which makes experimentation a bit tedious! The UI talks cryptically about assigning a static IP to your computer to log in to the UI again, but this didn't work - I tried both 192.168.1.2/24 then trying to access the UI on 192.168.1.1 (my config) and 192.168.8.2/24 with access on 192.168.8.1 (factory config) but neither worked. (And the same approach had worked fine when doing the initial config of the ER-X, for example, so I know it's not me just being totally useless!) This article covers the most common questions and answers about the B818 modem (e.g. how to set up your modem). Maximum size for each attachment is 10MB (rar, jpg, zip, pdf, war, txt, docx, doc, png, mp3, mp4, xls, xlsx, gif, jpeg are supported).

My monthly discount on Virgin is coming to an end, and also there's the 12% price rise notification I've received. So I thought I'd have a look at 4G mobile broadband to see if that was a viable option. Not sure it will be a full time option, but if I do have to cancel Virgin then I need to know how well it will tide us over. Dont like the sound of it moving over to 3G, i think the family would go mad about the loss of bandwidth. I've had a B818 for a few months. I have it linked up to a Unifi USG (gateway router) and using a 3 sim it all works fine. If I put an EE sim in (much, much faster) I get no connection to the internet. The Huawei B818-263 router also includes multiple LAN ports, allowing users to connect wired devices such as computers or gaming consoles. This router supports the latest IPv6 protocol, ensuring compatibility with future internet technology. HUAWEI B818 gives you uninterrupted Internet access thanks to the combination of a mobile network and an Ethernet connection.Get access to fast internet using Wi-Fi or a network cable. You can also create your own local network.

Using the B818

From the information you've shared, assuming the mast is indeed only B3+20, then the 4GEE EE router you have is perfectly suited. While a different than router may see incremental changes in throughput I doubt it'd be worth the outlay. youtube link for how to change (debrand??) the firmware on the B618 (SIX 18), so I'm guessing the B818 will be similar, but apparently firmwares are very hard to find for the B818. I won't be trying, not at the moment anyway. It would depend what bands are deployed at the mast, if there aren't any more 4G bands to aggregate then a different router won't help over what you have. I was wondering if anyone is successfully using the B818 in bridge mode? I don’t want to spend more time on configuration if there are known issues.

Rebooting hasn't seem to have worked either. Not gonna take "the plunge" and buy an adapter just yet. Although I did consider maybe there are different Rj11 cables out there and maybe the pin out is wrong. My only minor issue is that I still have to fix band 3 using LTE H-Monitor. Left to its own devices, the router will sometimes switch to band 20 with a massive loss in performance, and nothing but a reboot will make it return to band 3. Produce a secure Wi-Fi hotspot connecting up to 64 devices with a powerful Wi-Fi coverage wherever you may be! I'm using the internal antennae. It has TS-9 adapters so I can't try my Poynting aerial, but I'm unlikely to bother getting adapters as signal strength is reporting 75%. Although the Huawei B818 GigaCube Cat19 is the successor to the first generation GigaCube Huawei B528, the appearance of B818 looks more similar to the Huawei B618 Router. The Huawei B818 router is integrated with HiSilicon Balong V7R65 modem which supports LTE Cat19 with 256QAM, and up to 8 x 8 MIMO Antenna technology. As the sayings from Vodafone, the GigaCube Cat19 B818 supports speed up to 500Mbps, but theoretically with a suitably equipped LTE network, significantly higher speeds are possible. There's certainly a menu item there with a switch to turn Bridge mode on or off, so I would assume it would work OK. Upload video does not exceed 10M, supported formats are mp4, avi, wmv, mpeg, mov, mkv, flv, f4v, rmvb, rm, 3gp, dat, ts, mts, VOB

Buona sera ho contattato in mio operatore che mi ha detto che non sbloccheranno il mio modem Huawei 818-263 perciò sono ancora vincolato con loro pensate che si possa trovare in rete questoWhen the B818 has bridge mode off, the Asus correctly reports a WAN IP provided by the Huawei (192.168.1.101). When I put the B818 into bridge mode and reboot, the ASUS then reports a WAN IP of 10.146.154.229. I thought this was going to work but it’s still a private IP. A couple of differences have come to light between the vanilla Huawei device and the Optus branded one.
