About this deal

Adrian Charles "Ade" Edmondson is an English comedian, writer, director, actor, and musician. He is probably best known for his comedic roles in the television series The Young Ones (1982–1984) and Bottom (1991–2003), which he also wrote together with his long-time comedy partner Rik Mayall. Penguin presents the audiobook edition of Tilly and the Time Machine written and read by Adrian Edmondson. This was a great way to learn about the Victorians. There are interesting facts just like a normal history book but you find them out as part of time travelling story instead so it makes it more interesting. It also has good characters to and you want to know more about Tilly. I like the way that the book has been written. The author writes in a way and uses words that young people would want to read.

It sounds plausible enough tonight," said the Medical Man; "but wait until tomorrow. Wait for the common sense of the morning." But," said I, "If it travelled into the past it would have been visible when we came first into this room; and last Thursday when we were here; and the Thursday before that; and so forth!" Tilly and the Time Machine by Adrian Edmondson review

stars. As an adult, the name Adrian Edmondson immediately brings to mind the lovable punk Vivian from the acclaimed 1980s comedy "The Young Ones". To find out he's written a younger middle fiction novel with a female protagonist, honestly I was excited and concerned in equal measures.Access-restricted-item true Addeddate 2023-01-08 06:01:12 Autocrop_version 0.0.4_books-20210916-0.1 Boxid IA40816808 Camera Sony Alpha-A6300 (Control) Collection_set printdisabled External-identifier This little affair," said the Time Traveller, resting his elbows upon the table and pressing his hands together above the apparatus, "is only a model. It is my plan for a machine to travel through time. You will notice that it looks singularly askew, and that there is an odd twinkling appearance about this bar, as though it was in some way unreal." He pointed to the part with his finger. "Also, here is one little white lever, and here is another." Another 'celebrity' name, but Adrian Edmondson seems like a natural; he doesn't try too hard to be overly funny, or use silly devices to capture attention. He writes a story that to me seems like one I might have wanted to write as a child, and adds a little pathos and gentle humour. Under the name 20th Century Coyote, Edmondson and Mayall became one of the star attractions at The Comedy Store. As their popularity grew, Edmondson and Mayall and other upcoming comedians (including Alexei Sayle, Peter Richardson, Nigel Planer, French and Saunders) split away from the Comedy Store to set up their own venue: The Comic Strip club. The Comic Strip soon gained a reputation as one of the most popular comedy clubs in London and soon came to the attention of Channel 4. Edmondson and the others were commissioned to act in six self-contained half-hour films, using the group as comedy actors rather than stand-up performers. The series, entitled The Comic Strip Presents... debuted on 2 November 1982 (the opening night of Channel 4).

The Medical Man got up out of his chair and peered into the thing. "It's beautifully made," he said. Tilly and the Time Machine Chapter Four teacher version with questions and answers on the text, pupil version without questions on the text, differentiated challenge activities and challenge activity answers The illustrations are also great, adding another layer of humour to the story and enhance the story telling. I think children will thoroughly enjoy this story - and so will any adults sharing it with them! I really loved this book, it's very sweet but also quite sad at the same time since Tilly's mum died. This is one of my most favourite books. I also liked the pictures. I liked Tilly the best and yes of course I would recommend.Role play an imaginary conversation between Tilly and one of the characters in the story eg Queen Victoria or Mr Wormwood, the chimney sweep. Draw a picture This book helped me to understand more about war and I would really like to read more books by this author. The bit that I found really funny was when Tilly pretends to be the police!
