Vets do not recommend using medication for protozoans on your own. The best approach here is to go to the vet and follow the procedure. You must sanitize the belongings of the snake and clean the cage two to three times every week for the month. You will be asked to administer antibiotics at home, usually for a couple of weeks.

Snake Mites can cause suffering, and even death, to snakes. They can be difficult to control and eradicate once an infestation starts. The mites feed on the hosts blood supply leaving reptiles agitated, anaemic and weak. Early signs of Snake Mite activity include; restlessness, digging behaviour, extra bathing, raised scales and snakes may have low appetites. The Snake Mites cause damage to the snakes eyes by biting them and are often located where skin tissue is soft. How To Control Snake Mites The symptoms listed earlier will help you know when to take your pet snake to the vet. The veterinarian will send the fecal sample to the laboratory or examine the sample under a microscope to confirm the type of worms. The diagnosis will help in deciding the treatment method for these worms. Treatment of worms in snakes Cunaxidae has been found on every continent except Antarctica and the genus Armascirus is also widely distributed (Smliey 1992; Skvarla et al. 2014) and is known from Guizhou, Sichuan, Shanghai, Fujian, Jiangsu, Beijing and Taiwan in China (Tseng 1980; Liang 1983; Bu & Li 1987; Hu 1997; Lin & Zhang 2000). To mix Taurus SC, fill a 1-gallon sprayer one fourth (1/4) to one third (1/3) full of water while wearing your PPE. Then, add 0.4 to 0.8 ounces of Taurus to the sprayer. Place the cap on the sprayer and shake to mix. Finish filling the sprayer with water to make 1 gallon of finished spray solution. Replace the sprayer lid and shake well to finish combining.Figure 10. Absolutely sterilize all equipment in the room. Don’t just wipe it down with your chemical treatment, soak it and let it sit, everything. They hide the eggs everywhere. For those that suffocate, the keeper has achieved an aim. However, there will always be a number that either detach and run, or weren't on the animal in the first place. these Mites are hiding out in the Vivarium, just waiting for the inhabitant to return. Not to mention the hundreds of eggs and nymphs which don't go near the animal.

Most intestinal worm species infect the digestive tract via prey items that we feed our pets. Be particularly cautious when sourcing frogs or worms for species such as garter snakes.
