cachaça má dokonce i své vlastní svátky: 13. září je národním dnem Cachaça a 12. červen zase mezinárodní We say: Simple, but when made with a quality cachaça and raw honey syrup, then the Lemon Beat is delicious. Cachaça is a sweet, vegetal, and usually clear liquid made from fresh sugarcane juice. It’s most similar in taste and style to rum, which is primarily made from molasses, and rhum agricole, which is made with fresh sugarcane juice in Martinique. By law, cachaça must be produced in Brazil and have 38 to 54 percent alcohol by volume. However Cachaça wasn’t officially recognized in the U.S. as a distinct Brazilian spirit until 2013, and it’s still relatively hard to find a wide selection of bottles stateside despite there being more than 5,000 legally registered cachaça products in Brazil, according to Brazil Business. Branca is also blended in the family tradition, yet it is a traditional, 100% white cachaça that is not aged. This raw cachaça will stand up to any mixed drink and makes a fantastic caipirinha.

Jequitibá Rosa uses that hardwood for aging, giving the cachaça a delicate fruit flavor with a hint of bitterness.

Avuá (pronounced av-wah) is a fine, handcrafted cachaça that hails from the area just outside of Rio. The sugar cane is sourced from a third-generation farm and the cachaça is made in a pot still. It's another brand that plays with barrel aging, many resting in native Brazillian woods to impart distinct flavors.

Author Bio

The major difference between cachaça and rum [20] is that rum is usually made from molasses, a by-product after a refinery boils the cane juice to extract as much sugar crystal as possible, while cachaça is made from fresh sugarcane juice, fermented and distilled. [21] Some rums, in particular the rhum agricole of the French Caribbean, are also made by the latter process. Cachaça is also known as Brazilian rum. [9] We say: Flavours of grape, both fresh and in the wine, transform the humble Caipirinha into a Caipirinha D'uva. Caipirinhas are very strong, the proportion of alcohol to the rest of ingredients is quite high, and it’s a drink that needs to be sipped and enjoyed slowly. It’s one of those drinks where you know you are drinking a real drink, the benefit is that unlike some fruity drinks where you barely taste the booze –and therefore drink way too much, you know from the start that you probably shouldn’t have too many. Like rum, cachaça comes in two varieties; unaged (white) and aged (gold). White cachaça is usually bottled immediately after distillation and tends to be cheaper (some producers age it for up to 12 months in wooden barrels to achieve a smoother blend). It is often used to prepare caipirinha and other beverages in which cachaça is an ingredient. Dark cachaça, usually seen as the "premium" variety, is aged in wood barrels and is meant to be drunk straight (it is usually aged for up to 3 years though some "ultra premium" cachaças have been aged for up to 15 years). Its flavour is influenced by the type of wood the barrel is made from. Figures from 2003 indicate 1.3billion litres of cachaça are produced each year; only 1% of this is exported (mainly to Germany). Luxury comes to life in Yaguara Cachaça, a brand focused on the art of blending. Each of their three cachaças draws on a century of tradition within the Meneghel family, and the result is spectacular. Grappa, there’s never been a better reason to recapture a flavour from your past (or discover something fresh!). The qualities from the olfactory are consequently carried over to the gustatory sensation. Clean, fresh, minimalistic.

In short, the liquid is crystal clear. Despite being rested after distillation, Pitú has no age indication and no signs of maturation in oak, which would color the spirit and eventually give it a brownish hue. Marvada chique".
