Mewslade Bay Fall Bay and the impressive line of cliffs to nearby Mewslade Llangennith beach is situated on the western edge of the Gower Peninsula. It gets some of the most awesome waves in Britain, and sandy Llangennith has been popular amongst surfers for decades. Rhossili Bay has also been enjoying some limelight on the world stage too. It has been voted into the top ten of beaches in Britain for the last eight years and is currently the 11th best beach in Europe (TripAdvisor, Travellers’ Choice Awards). This circular walk starts in the little village of Penmaen and descends to Penmaen Burrows where you will find the remains of a Neolithic burial chamber and a medieval church. You then head west to Nicholaston Burrows, passing the Nicholaston Pill stream and enjoying great views over Oxwich Bay. Port Eynon Bay is one of the most popular beaches on Gower. It is easily accessible and the car park is situated about a minute from the beach.

As you look west from Three Cliffs Bay or Tor Bay , the pristine sand arcs away for miles, ending at a wooded headland. It is a truly wondrous place. The Gower Peninsula stretches towards the west from the City of Swansea, spanning approximately 19 miles. It boasts a diverse landscape, with its southern coast adorned with sandy beaches and scenic cliff paths, while the northern coast is characterized by expansive salt marshes that gradually merge into the Loughor Estuary. Worms Head stands as a cherished national symbol, and Rhossili Bay is renowned as one of the most breathtaking beaches in Britain, if not the entire world. The western end of Oxwich beach is much busier.
