Description

The 440 weighs slightly less than the 540, at 2.6 pounds. It runs on 4 AA batteries rather than rechargeable batteries. Iron Bias is non-adjustable on the 440 and is preset on High. Sensitivity and Volume settings are the same, at 10 levels.

More than that, the real intelligence of the system is that the Multi-IQ processing will collate and compare the signals from alloperating frequencies, analasing the similarities and differences between them to get a clearer picture of what's really down there. This gives you better target ID and discrimination at greater depth, and the versatility to perform in a wider range of ground types, handling mineralisation, wet sand, coke/iron occlusion, etc. That means you can find and identify targets that a single frequency will struggle with. Easy for The Beginner, Powerful for The Pro as seen in the Equinox Series which made it a real game changer in the metal detecting world and by far the best selling metal detector in 2018, 2019 and probably all-time to date.At that, the rivals on the market are very active and they continue designing new metal detectors. For example, Turkish Nokta Simplex can successfully compete with most of modern metal detectors for beginners. Unlike the Vanquish 540, which is only water resistant, the Simplex+ is fully submersible up to 10 feet (like the Equinox series). The Simplex+ also has Bluetooth connectivity and can be used with wireless headphones, like the 540. The Vanquish 540 has a pinpoint function and 5 search modes, including a custom setting giving you the freedom of choice. The detector uses frequencies between 5 and 40 kHz simultaneously. That is advantageous because the lower frequency range allows for deeper identification.

However, if you set Iron BIAS to Low, the metal detector will perform better when detection coins among iron rubbish. This function does provide clearer signals from coins, but during the testing process, the metal detector functioned in All Metal mode. We didn’t perform testing at various discrimination modes; thus, I’d recommend using this function with care in this case. Models Minelab Vanquish 340These metal detectors offer some amazing features, especially for the price point. Each detector in this line is easy enough for a new detectorist to use. The Vanquish 540 is easy to use for beginners but has enough features to make intermediate detectorists happy. Frankly speaking, I was disappointed, when I saw the novelty. It was like Garrett ACE 250, but in red. However, the reality has exceeded my expectations. Of all the lower priced VLF metal detectors out there, the Nokta Makro Simplex is one of my favorites. As with the Vanquish line, the Simplex+ is designed to be an affordable entry level or intermediate metal detector. The Simplex+ is the first entry from Nokta Makro in the entry level field and this detector is very easy to use. This does not make it a multi-frequency detector, but rather a single frequency with frequency shift. One of my favorite features of the Simplex+ is it has a vibrating Target ID. I really like this feature for the hearing-impaired detectorists, and for underwater metal detecting. Fourthly, you get a bluetooth compatible machine that allows you to connect to the Minelab application. And fifthly, the system is rechargeable.
