About this deal

Around two years ago I read about the excentric Montblanc diamond that the company introduced in the many products. Including the 100 years anniversary fountain and ballpoint pens.

I mean, with my Omega James Bond Watches, I know there were 10,007 made of each. That is what they call a Limited Series. Compared with their Limited Editions it’s quite a bunch, but they are clear about the quantity.I got quite curious about its size and weight (carat), but couldn’t find anything about these. Sure, I have read that the Montblanc diamond has 43 facets, features Wesselton colour and is of VS/SI quality.

I am actually thinking about buying my first LE, the Friedrich II The Great fountain pen which i have found and the reason I read here is to see if it is really worth it or not.. But I can't find anything about it’s size and weight. Are there different sizes for the different products (watches, eyewear, jewellery, pens, etc.) or are they all the same? And what is the carat of the ones in the fountain pens? Just crossing my fingers that someone might enlightend us with the numbers of the Starwalker special edition and it's diamonds carat...

Omega saw this and made a clear distinction between their limited series (large amount but limited in production), limited editions (called specialities, limited like Audemars Piquet) and special editions (unique variaties). And then the crown figuratively and literally on top of the pen, the Montblanc diamond itself! I could spend hours looking at its beauty and its representation of one of the finest writing instruments craftsmen. This gem is quite symbolic. And it floats like magic in its transparent dome, enabling you to enjoy it from all sides. About the limited editions, I didn’t came across any with 4,810 pieces. That’s quite a lot. But I concur with you that the Special Edition has probably been made in large quantities. I just wish Montblanc isn’t so vague about the quantities, so we know how many there were produced. What I meant to say is that the MB limited editions are produced that for each patron of the art or writer they would produce 4,810 pens and an additional 888 pens of the same but usually solid gold instead of plated for the same LE. Noted, thats quite a large number already and that is why you can usually buy them for a couple of grand instead of them being valued at much more.. The special editions are plentifully produced throughout the year of their marking and I doubt, unfortunately, that we'll come to know exactly how much.. The iconic brand has pioneered the creation of luxury products for well over a century. Its first invention was an ingenious easy-to-use fountain pen. The label has since helped generations place their words down on paper with expertly made writing instruments such as the much-loved Montblanc rollerball. Expect devices that are delicately built in Hamburg with durable materials including resin, platinum and ruthenium. The internationally renowned label has also proudly put its name to accessories and watches. Its leatherware is crafted in Florence and its timepieces are created in the home of watchmaking – Switzerland.
