Here, she'll share the freshly released heroes that she loves: ready to let you know where to spend your skin and hair care cash. Aldi said: “Great for all skin types this amazing Lacura Original Hot Cloth Cleanser is sure to give you naturally healthy looking skin. Add this dermatologically tested cleanser into your beauty regime and you'll be amazed at how great your skin starts to feel and look.” One reviewer who compared the two said “I always use this product. There is a famous make, Pixi, which I used one on one side and Lacura on the other. Following the news that Smashbox cosmetics will no longer be available in the UK from September, fans have been scrambling to find an alternative that performs just as well. Enter Aldi. Coming in a tall bottle complete with signature green Pixi label and lid, glow tonic offers liquid exfoliation, thanks to key active glycolic acid. This component makes up five per cent of the formula and is second on the ingredients list and is also joined by witch hazel and aloe vera to add gentle skincare elements. Meanwhile, glycerin is included too and is known for softening skin and holding moisture.

And that's not all the discounted chain is known for, as they have also branched out into the beauty and skincare world with the launch of their in house brand Lacura. The supermarket's own-brand features a range of luxurious beauty products that are said to be very similar to designer brands such as Clinique, Elizabeth Arden, Liz Earle and more - but without the price-tag. Now, I know what you are all thinking, didn't I just review a facial cleanser. That I did, but I am a big believer in the 'double cleanse' routine, especially in the evenings when I need to take off all my make-up, which is where this face wash came in handy. And, of course, to end any skincare regime, you need a truly luxurious moisturiser to sink into and repair your skin while you get some good hours of shut eye. Lacura Healthy Glow Glycolic Toner: Aldi’s beauty dupes are not to be slept on. Boasting similar ingredients and results to the PIXI Glow Tonic, this skincare hero is our favourite Lacura goodie. A second shopper said: "I have used more expensive ones and the ingredients are the same as this but at a fraction of the price. I have bought a few once on sale as well." Unlike a few toners that contain an AHA, this toner doesn't leave any redness on my skin and didn't cause any sensitivity, which I was absolutely grateful for.

These Aldi beauty dupes were gifted to me via Shopping Links for the purposes of review. Best Aldi Beauty Dupes So, imagine my surprise when this cream literally melted into my pores and left me feeling velvety smooth for the entire day. Despite being recommended for the older age groups, I think anyone looking for hydrated and smooth skin should try this cream out. The Lacura Healthy Glow definitely gives a little tingle when activating on your skin, which is exactly what I got with the Pixi one. It also leaves my skin feeling really clear and clean. Lacura Healthy Glow Aqua, Glycolic Acid, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Sodium Hydroxide, Betain, Polysorbate 20, Phenoxyethanol, Allantoin, Hamamelis Virginiana Water, Peg-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Ppg-26-buteth-26, Benzophenone-4, Disodium Edta, Parfum, Ethylhexylglycerin, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Linalool, Geraniol, Hexyl Cinnamal, Caramel, Cl 14700. The cruelty free 'brightening toner'includes willow bark and turmeric extracts that are said to cleanse and nourish your skin. It works to remove the 'grime and dirt' and is suitable for sensitive skin.

Lacura Healthy Glow

The lightly fresh scent is near identical to Pixi’s, although, if pushed, we’d say Lacura’s is probably slightly fainter. As Aldi dupes go, this offering has to be one of the closest in styles to its cult-classic inspiration.

We unscrewed the twist-off lid and dotted some liquid onto a make-up remover pad before swiping it over our face and décolleté. Our tester felt the toner to be cooling on skin, while noticing a bit of tingling too. Containing less aloe, the toner did feel a little harsher, but we think that’s to be expected. Recommended use is no more than twice daily, so, as with other acids, how often you apply it does depend on skin type. Toner is the step after cleansing and before moisturising, and something I never did before I found Pixi Glow Tonic. It contains glycolic acid, ginseng, witch hazel and Aloe Vera. This combo of power ingredientswas created to brighten, tones and condition your skin, as well as gradually diminishing signs of sun damage, fine lines, scarring and other imperfections. Basically miracle working! Aldi Dupes For me, the absolute winner of this face wash, was the fact that it was perfume and soap free, which was perfect for someone like me. My skin didn't feel as tight afterwards and was actually pretty soft. Margaret martin said: “Just as good as Liz Earle which I have been using for years on my very sensitive skin at a fraction of the cost.”As our tester’s skin is sensitive, we didn’t tend to use it twice daily, instead opting for just once. Sometimes we even applied the glow tonic on alternative days, depending on how our skin was feeling. However, you could tweak your own usage depending on skin type. And as with all skincare containing acids, we’d recommend keeping topped up with SPF at it can increase sun sensitivity in general. One shopper who thought this low of a price point would mean the toner wasn’t any good was pleasantly surprised. They went on to say: “I was sceptical about this toning lotion but thought I would give it a try, and what an amazing toner!

On the days that I just needed a generic face wash, or for those 'double cleanse' days, I used this 99p face wash which is said to be good for anyone who suffers from dry skin. Much like the day cream, the night cream really does melt into the skin, the scent isn't too overpowering, and it never leaves a greasy sheen on the face. After opening the bottle, we smelt a fresh, delicate scent coming from ingredients such as ginseng root extract. What we like most though, is how easily the alcohol-free tonic fits into our skincare routine. Suitable for use in the morning and at night, we unscrewed the lid and swept the liquid across our skin with a reusable make-up remover pad after cleansing. It feels instantly refreshing on skin, and while our face tingled a little afterwards, we didn’t see irritation. Not only are the prices extremely low, but beauty enthusiasts and dedicated Aldi fans swear the products make your skin look and feel just as good, if not better, than some designer brands. Both primers are silica based primers with a clear gel-like texture - we compared the two in a beauty test previously, which you can find here. Aldi said: “Get your skin looking picture perfect with this Lacura Snapshot Ready Glow Primer. Whether you're using this alone or under make-up, your selfies will never be the same again.”However, as someone who used to use the Glow Tonic religiously, I can definitely compare the quality of the products. One of the things I love about the Pixi Tonic is that it always removes every last drop of makeup. I don’t think it was intended this way but it is an added bonus that I never found in any other product. Don’t get me wrong, I always take my makeup off beforehand. Yet no matter how clean I thought my face was, the Pixi product managed to find and remove some last bits which always amazed me. I didn’t think that the Lacura Healthy Glow Tonic would do this but to my pleasant surprise, it does exactly the same. More intensive skincare routines are on the rise, with one in five of us increasing the time we spend each day layering on products, per a recent survey. As such, it’s no surprise that 76% of people who bought cleansers, toners and serums last year said that price remains a key factor, when they choose which item to buy. I have been using it for a week now and can tell that my face is glowing. It’s the best glycolic toner on the market I can guarantee you!”. It's why budget supermarket Aldi is following in the footsteps of ingredient-led yet inexpensive brands like The Ordinary, Inkey List and Beauty Pie and is launching a brand-new premium skincare range that promises beauty lovers high-quality ingredients without the hefty price tag. These are being sold under the shop's 'Lacura' range. Maija added: “Obsessed with this highlighter. Have had so many compliments since I started using it. It lasts really well and definitely makes your face glow! It’s just as good as the benefit one just without the price tag!”
