Touch dry after one to three hours, the manufacturer recommends two coats, the second applied at least four hours after the first. Like Crown Acrylic Eggshell, this eggshell paint is perfect for bathroom ceilings with its robust defence against moisture and water stains. Coming with a retail price yet trade quality, if you don’t want to fork out on the expensive trade paints listed in this guide, I’d highly recommend trying Dulux’s Easycare bathroom paint. I’ve had this in my own shower room where ventilation is poor for over 6 years and it’s still looking great and free from mould. It’s perfectly ok to use normal ceiling paint in the bathroom but it’s worth considering how well-ventilated your bathroom is before using this option. If your bathroom is well-ventilated and doesn’t suffer from steam or condensation issues then you can go ahead and use normal ceiling paint in your bathroom.

Available in Brilliant White and Magnolia, you’ll need to treat existing mould first before applying the paint, which goes on with ease using a brush or roller, leaving a washable soft sheen finish once it’s fully dried. Suitable for almost any bathroom environment, Crown Trade Acrylic Eggshell covers like a dream with its 16m2/L spreading rate with most jobs completed in just 2 coats unlike some other bathroom ceiling paints that can take up to 5 coats to fully cover some ceilings. A warm or neutral colour scheme is made up of several tones of one colour when looking at the colour wheel, and this may be a fantastic option when choosing the colour scheme for space and your ceiling paint ideas. This lovely, understated room is painted in a soft, dreamy warm green colour and white. Combine colours from the same colour scale families for a harmonic result and a well-thought-out coordinated vibe. Use a stronger concentration of the same hue on the walls and a lighter shade on the ceiling to create a subtle contrast, or just paint the walls white to highlight the ceilings. These articles, the information therein and their other contents are for information purposes only. Matt paint or flat matt paints are paints that don’t reflect a lot of light and for this reason, they are preferred for their modern aesthetic. However, unless your bathroom is well-ventilated it’s usually a good idea to avoid using retail matt paints in particular. If you really want a modern aesthetic then trade matt paint is your only option here. If you want an easy life, then we’d advise using a simple matt emulsion as it will be easy to apply and will give results that won’t show up every last bump and lump in your ceilings. You don’t necessarily need to use a specialist ceiling paint, but if you can budget for one, it’s well worth considering – they may make your life even easier as they’re designed to avoid spatter and dry more slowly for a better finish. This could well be the best ceiling paint for bathrooms and the price reflects that. If you’re desperately in need of waterproof ceiling paint then it’s certainly worth considering buying this. Overall, the Dulux Easycare covers well, is highly durable in moisture-rich environments and is super cheap – a great combination of you’re looking for a budget ceiling paint for your bathroom.

Normally, when you finish a basement, you drywall the ceiling when you put in the walls. That makes it look like any other room in your house. We decided not to for a few reasons: 1. HeightWith that in mind, I would highly recommend purchasing Dulux Trade Diamond Eggshell if you’re looking for the best Dulux ceiling paint. Always make sure there’s plenty of ventilation in the room you’re painting and wear protective goggles – after all, you’ll be staring straight up at the paint you’re applying. Always stir your paint well before use and regularly during use too to keep it properly mixed. And, after use, clean brushes or rollers completely and secure any remaining paint safely away from where children and pets can access it. I had Dustin nearby with a wet paper towel to wipe my glasses every once in a while. (He couldn’t hear me call him through my mask, so our system was that I would clap really loudly when I needed help, lol!) When it comes to retail paint, professional decorators tend to shy away from even trying them but every now and again a retail paint will come along that performs just like trade paint. In this instance, I’m talking about Dulux’s Easycare bathroom paint.
