About this deal

i honestly never thought i’d reread this book and yet here i am! i wanna start off by saying that i enjoyed it way more than the first time i read it — and that’s something that i was definitely not expecting. my first experience with this book wasn’t perfect, i had some issues with the characters and the story so i thought that a reread wouldn’t be a good idea and i was scared i would ended up lowering my rating, but i decided to read it for a second time and now i’m so glad i did! i regret not rereading it sooner.

While Kiss the Sky documents the lives of the six friends and their entwined relationships, the focus is on Rose and Connor. The duo is older and more mature than the rest. Their traits make these two an odd couple, but the more you read about them, it becomes clear that they are perfect for each other. They are smart, and even though they are also flawed and highly competitive, they complement each other. So yes, they were both caring of one another, just as they were selfish, and the love they had was completely toxic but at least they were aware. Enabling each others addictions was what allowed them to sink further — making it so difficult for them to crawl out of that. That was all included in it. I should have realised it from the beginning but now at the end the realisation has hit me hard. I have always said one thing: “True love is when the only thing stopping the lovers from getting together is the world or fate. Not themselves”That’s what Lily and Lo try to do when Jonathan Hale schedules an “important” meeting. The problem: after being swept into the public eye and battling their addictions, they’re not sure what the worst is anymore. In a sea of many changes—including Ryke & Daisy living with them—Lily realizes that the best part of her fluctuating hormones might just be the worst. Addicted to You is the first book in the Addicted Series by Krista and Becca Ritchie. It is the first book to follow Loren Hale and Lily Calloway's romance. They understood and spent most of their lives concealing their addictions from everyone around them but they were also such enablers to it. They both didn’t want to seek out help for each other bc then it would mean they’d have to let go of their own addiction which neither was willing to do. Lily would enable lo’s uncontrolled drinking and lo would enable her sexual appetite and it became a normalized ritual for them. again, it's really hard to like or even relate to the main characters and root for their relationship because they both enabled each other's addictions and there's also not much depth to the characters as they were all about their vices so that's why i couldn't connect with them ( side note: i only think this way the first time i read this but i've read almost half of the addicted/calloway series and lemme tell y'all,,, lili and lo?? I'LL DO ANYTHING TO PROTECT THESE TWO FICTIONAL CHARACTERS. imma keep my original thoughts here because not only did lily and lo had a character development but i did as well when it comes to my feeling between these two). This story is written in a brilliant way, such that I couldn’t predict what was going to come next despite the fact that it sounds like a very predictable book. I believe this is the first in a trilogy so there will be more to the story which surprised me as I thought this would’ve made quite a good stand-alone book if the ending had been slightly tweaked.

I'm going to stop here but seriously, I just LOVED the whole storyline. I felt so deeply invested in it and I read so many scenes with that butterflies-in-my-belly feeling. I don't know... there's just something about flawed, damaged characters who clearly love each other SO much and are trying as hard as they can do make it through something together that just strongly tugs at my heartstrings. As you get further in, you’ll notice and understand the impenetrable bond they share as friends and in their relationship. The depth of their struggle and fight for a real functional and normal relationship bc they didn’t know how without hurting each other really pulled on my heartstrings. Want to read a romance novel that will take you on an emotional roller-coaster, the Addicted to You book is an ideal choice. The storyline is unique since the hero and heroine all have deep-rooted issues, but in the end, love seems to be winning. The pace is perfect, the cast is impressive, and way the story is told can only mean that you will have a hard time putting down this book. no for real bishh don't read this. you read the blurb - h being a sex addict and H being an alcoholic. this will just stress you the f out. you have TWO midterms this week, sit your ass down and Don't You. Dare. read this or i-" At this point, Loren has passed out on one of the limo's seats and is cradling his bourbon-filled flask like a baby. Ryke takes the flask out of his arms and pours it out of the window much to Lily's offence.Description: Due to the 2-year gap between Addicted for Now (Addicted #3) and Addicted After All (Addicted #5), you must read Thrive (Addicted #4) or the Calloway Sisters spin-off series before reading Addicted After All. The final book in the series, with an epic conclusion for Lily and Lo. For three years, childhood best friends Lily Calloway & Loren Hale have been pretending to be in a real relationship to hide their addictions from their families. Disclaimer: Cheating is forbidden for my taste in romance, AND IN GENERAL. It’s clearly the worse thing that ever happened to humanity. religiously that’s how humanity was created but whatever. no one jumps on my throat, please. Loren said so many heart tugging things that got to me as you’ll see. And while this isn’t in his pov, lily does well in explaining what it’s like on the outside for him with his own addiction as an alcoholic. Which could be described as him being so tormented, lost, and just miserable. With the way lily described him, I wanted so badly to see where his mind was with all that was happening as his addiction was not only hurting himself but lily as well. I just love when I read a book and the characters begin to feel REAL to me. And that is precisely what happened here. It was like I could almost feel the love, the shame and guilt, the pain Lily & Lo were feeling as they battled their addictions. And in the end it was beautiful and heartwarming to see how their family battled along side them. Even though their relationship was an unhealthy one, the love between Lily & Lo will have you rooting for them to fight and get better.
