About this deal

XV is much smaller than a combi; arm length is 40cm compared to a combi arm length of 65cm. Note the 15mm XVL & 22mm XXII arm lengths are about 60cm The Monument Masters 1215K-XV, 1315-XVE, 1315Longarm-XVL, 1222G-XXII and 1322Extended-XXIIE create similar bend radiuses to a Monument 2600K combi bender; in fact the 1222G has a slightly tighter radius that the 2600K combi bender, as this radius is tighter it creates a slightly different profile on the outside of the bend when compared to a combi.

less fiddly– with the integrated hook and nylon guide, your hook stop won’t flop from side to side and the guide(s) won’t fall out We believe the 1215K-XV, the 1315XVE, the 1315Longarm-XVL, the 1222G-XXII and the 1322Extended-XXIIE are easier to use than a combi bender: less fiddly – with the integrated hook and nylon guide, your hook stop won’t flop from side to side and the guide(s) won’t fall out A. If your pipe is thin walled and your equipment is not clean (Answered by Colin Stainer Plumbing & Heating on 27 Jan 2021) better sight lines– as the bend is in the same plane as the Arms of the bender it is easier to line up by eye

Why Bend Copper Pipe?

Bending copper pipes also reduces the number of fittings used and although this probably would not make a great deal of difference to the DIY enthusiast as the cost of a pipe bender for 2 days is probably more than the cost of the appropriate fittings, it is important to a plumber who probably saves over 600 fittings in the course of a year. The copper pipe is then placed under the hook across the top of the wheel former (5) and under the stay.

The nylon guides are integral to the pipe bender helping to ensure they don’t get lost or damaged in a toolbag. Codes for these spare guides are 1216N 15mm Spare Nylon Guide and 1223J 22mm Spare Nylon Guide. The standard finish of the benders is a bright zinc plate on the Arms with rumbled aluminium Former and Lever castings. We will also be making available special editions with different finishes to the castings. Some of the Monument Masters have received laser etched and polished castings which look fantastic! Differences compared to a combi bender Before you remove the pipe from the Former, view your bend angle; remove the pipe if it is correct, or if necessary, reapply the Lever Arm and increase the bend angle. Tooltalk Reviews

The Monument single sized pipe bender measurements can be seen in the image. 15mm standard version is approximately 460mm and the standard 22mm version is approximately 670mm. Combi Bender 2600K MON2600 We believe the 1215K-XV, the 1315XVE, the 1315Longarm-XVL, the 1222G-XXII and the 1322Extended-XXIIE are easier to use than a combi bender: The Monument Masters 1215K, 1315XVE (replacing the 1315Longarm ), 1222G and the 1322Extended Pipe Bender are #MadeInBritain. First models of the new pipe bender were designed and 3D printed in the engineering suite at Monument. We standardised the handle diameters for both sizes. lighter in the hand than a combi. The Monument combi weighs more than 4kg; the XV weighs 1.5kg; the XXII weighs 2.3kg

We posed this question through the Tooltalk App (see all the answers in the app available for iOS or Android AOS).The 15mm pipe bender also known as tube bender is an essential part of the toolkit for any heating or plumbing engineer. The single sizes of each bender with their shorter bending arms and lightweight aluminium die casting makes each bender lighter to carry and the design of the 15mm-XV is small enough to fit inside a toolbag.
