About this deal

Regarding where to source the wire wool – I’ve now added a link in the supplies list to a very similar product to the one I used in this project (I can’t find the exact one, as I bought it in a shop, not online). I actually found it pretty easy to stuff into the pin cushion. It needed no manipulation; I just tore off small pieces and stuffed it, as you would with normal toy stuffing. I would recommend wearing gloves and a safety mask when when doing this though, as I’ve mentioned in the post. I found that it created a bit of dust, which is not good to be inhaling. However, once it’s contained within the pin cushion, it should be fine (I’ve used mine 5-6 times now with no problems). I hope this helps! Thanks again for pointing this out 🙂 – Mike. Reply To begin, you need to cut out two circles and one long rectangle from your fabric. The circles should be approximately 10cm in diameter. The rectangle should measure 35cm by 6cm. But if you like the look of the blanket but don’t want to spend too much money, Matalan has exactly the same blanket but at a cheaper price in their sale.

The time P.K. flatly refused a request from his deceased best friend’s mom at their first meeting 7 views Unlike regular cushions, or regular bean bags even, this comfy item will mould itself to hug your curves with ultimate comfort as you sit and roll about from position to position. According to the company, the product was designed around the idea of a cushion that ruins people, a concept that’s become popular in recent years, where designers seek to provide customers with comfort levels so supreme they won’t ever want to move, leading to their ultimate ruin.

How to sew a wrist pincushion

With the rectangular piece now sewed onto the circular piece, you’ll be left with a small opening/slit on one side. Line these edges up neatly, pin in place and stitch together. DO NOT stitch the entire slit close – just the very top part, as you can see in my photos. This is because we will use this slit to stuff the pin cushion later on! What do you think? Would you like to make your own DIY wrist pincushion? Let me know in the comments below! – Mike. Finally, stitch the slit closed. You’ll need to do this the traditional way: with a needle and thread! Use a hidden ladder stitch (or similar) for the best result. Japan is famous for being a land of convenience, so when you want to stay warm and sit down for extended periods of time, who can be bothered to go to the effort of pulling out a chair and wrapping a blanket around yourself? In this day and age, there should be a way for all these things to be done in one swift movement, and that’s exactly what’s now possible, thanks to a new product called the “ Wearable Beanbag“.

Feel protected and secure during your sports- and outdoor activities, when you sit in a normal chair or on any hard surface, or when you play on the ground. Afterwards you can simply put the entire AllRounder O2 in the washing machine to clean it up and make it ready for your next adventure together. Experience the freedom! User testimonials The Vicair AllRounder O2 has really made it possible for me to go through life a bit more carefree again.”– Julia van der Sprong Whether you work from home or are on the run for the whole day, it's always nice to take a break and lounge, even if only for a little while. Sometimes, it can be hard to find the right spot to settle in, though. Wouldn’t it be nice to find a comfy seat no matter where you are? Well, Japanese company Hanalolo may have the perfect, albeit awkward, solution: a wearable bean bag pillow, so you can be your own cozy spot wherever you are. Ta-dah! I designed this wrist pincushion, with an elasticated strap. No excuse not to use it! And the best bit? It’s stuffed with wire wool, so it will sharpen your pins as you use it! How cool is that? While the product was introduced to the market earlier this year, it remained under the radar until a recent tweet sent it viral, leading it to be featured on morning TV programs, where people fell in love with the genius idea. Suntory announces massive price spike for Japanese whisky, some types more than double in price 3 views The Wearable Beanbag was created by Takikou Sewing, a company in Okazaki City, Aichi Prefecture, that specialises in beanbags, or “bead cushions” as they’re known in Japan.

Wrap the your elastic strap once around your wrist, making sure it’s slightly stretched. You want it to be tight enough to stay secure, but not so tight that it cuts off the circulation to your hand! When it’s comfortable, make a mark at the point that the elastic ends overlap. This will give you an idea of how long it needs to be. Cut the elastic at the mark you made, so you’re left with a short elastic strap. Simply plop yourself down and you’ve got cushioned comfort all around, allowing you to play video games or scroll through your phone for hours on end. The activity cushion Vicair AllRounder O2 is available in three sizes: small, medium and large and has an average weight of only 800 grams. The Wearable Beanbag comes in three sizes so parents and children can swap their matching pyjamas for matching beanbags instead. Using your sewing machine, sew the elastic to the fabric circle (remove the pins as you go). I used my Singer 7285Q Patchwork for this, which has the option for zig-zag stitches. This is perfect for sewing elastic, as the zig-zag stitch will stretch with the elastic – meaning it won’t snap if you over-stretch it. The beanbag is designed to be worn like a dress but the adult version does weigh around five kilos (11 pounds), so you can use it as a regular beanbag as well.

You’ll now have two separate pieces: one circle with elastic joined, and one circle with the rectangle joined. The next step is to join these two pieces together. Simply pin the other long edge of the rectangle piece to the circle with the elastic on it. This is very similar to how you joined the first long edge of the rectangle in the previous steps. The main thing to remember here is to ensure the elastic strip is captured inside the two circles! This is because we’ll turn the DIY wrist pincushion inside out in a moment, which will reveal the elastic strip on the outside – ready to wear on your wrist. This concept was born out of the idea of a cushion that would allow you to totally let go, any time, anywhere. You can put this on and chill out in your living room, or loads of other places, that’s why we created it,” Takikou’s Shogo Takikawa said. Hi Cheryl! Thanks for pointing this out. The toy stuffing was an error on my part. I had originally planned to use a blend of toy stuffing/wadding and wire wool, but I ended up only using the wire wool. My bad! I’ve deleted that from the supplies list now.Pokémon GO melds with Tokyo’s traditional neighborhood for Asakusa Routes event, gets thumbs up from us 4 views It would be helpful if you could share with us what the “wire wool” product you used looks like and how you manipulated the material to get it inside the cover. As for the idea of the barrier of plastic to keep pins from piercing the bottom of the cushion, I like it but I do not see how you could put it in place through the side slit. I also think you’d be unable to turn the cover right side out through the slit if you secured the plastic barrier between two layers of fabric after you’d sewn the elastic in place and before you turned the cushion cover right side out. Reply The Vicair AllRounder O2 is filled with the tetrahedron shaped SmartCells to offer skin protection and comfort. Take your other fabric circle and the long rectangle of fabric you cut out earlier. Pin the long side of the rectangle to the curved edge of the circle. When you’ve gone all the way round the circle and the two ends of the rectangle meet, fold the ends outwards (not inwards!).
