ZenBook 13 OLED has a precision-engineered ErgoLift hinge that automatically lifts the rear of the laptop slightly when it’s opened, tilting the keyboard to the optimum typing angle. This action also raises the chassis for optimized cooling and enhanced audio quality. The stated 2.8 mm width of the side bezel is the distance between the edge of the non-active screen display area and the inside edge of the case. During its PCMark 10 Battery Life test, it did a respectable 9 hours and 40 minutes. This means that it can last a full day between charges that don’t take very long. The battery usually takes a little over an hour to fully charge. Using the standard TechRadar movie test of looping local 1080p video, the ZenBook 13 delivered 11 hours and 56 minutes. That’s enough battery power for a flight from LAX to Heathrow with juice to spare. The audio system of ZenBook 13 OLED is certified by audio specialists Harman Kardon to ensure immersive, crystal-clear sound for communications or entertainment.

One of the most intriguing parts of the ZenBook 13’s performance capabilities are its extraordinary achievements on our 3DMark and Superpostion gaming simulations. Theaverage frame rate of 44 frames per second (fps) on Superposition at a 720p preset with low quality settings is especially impressive. Above the display, there’s an HD (720p) webcam with IR sensors that support face recognition logins via Windows Hello. Video quality is average, with a slightly noisy picture even in bright indoor lighting conditions. Maxon's CPU-crunching Cinebench R15 test, which is fully threaded to make use of all available processor cores and threads, shows similar results. Cinebench stresses the CPU rather than the GPU to render a complex image. The result is a proprietary score indicating a PC's suitability for processor-intensive workloads. ZenBook 13 has been tested to meet the ultra-demanding MIL-STD-810G U.S. military standard for reliability and durability. Tests consisted of a punishing regime designed to ensure survival in harsh environments, and included power-on drop tests and operation at extremes of altitude and temperature.
