Deoxygenation samples expressed transcripts annotated in association with a response to light (retinol dehydrogenase activity; GO:0004745), iron binding (ferric iron binding; GO:0008199), protein synthesis (isoleucine-tRNA ligase activity; GO:0004822), and immunity (innate immune response; GO:0002758).
