Don’t be put off by the name of this fragrance. This is NOT one of those traditional skanky animalic type of oud scents. This is a sophisticated, well put together scent that contains natural Indian oud oil.

The Absolutes focus on high quality raw natural ingredients that have been blended to create super unique fragrances. The Magnetic Blends Collection Absolute Aphrodisiac is an EDP and projects just under arm’s length for the first 1–2 hours, then sits closer to the skin, lasting around 8–10 plus hours. It is believed that a specific "smoked" aspect of castoreum could be obtained after drying it above the open fire or after "aging". For perfume purposes, alcoholic tinctures, resinoids and absolutes are prepared from sacs dried and crushed into small pieces. Be careful not to overspray this one. You only need 1–2 sprays MAX or this could become annoying to others around you (it will fill a room!). Top notes are fleeting and are only for you – think of them as the finishing touch to your glamour ritual or a little magic dust that gives you a feeling of joy and empowerment,” highlights Eva. “It’s really the heart and base notes you want to focus on to cast a spell on all around you. You may well not perceive them but others will.”

Always apply the fragrance to your pulse points, and Initio always advise not to rub it in; always pat it in to let the molecules settle. But does it live up to its name? years ago, when beavers were seriously endangered, perfumers tried to find a synthetic replacement to natural castoreum. Dihydrocarveol (a green smell) and its derivatives together with a birch tar were among the most often solutions.

Don’t go crazy with the sprays. This is definitely a “less is more” type fragrance… 1–2 sprays MAX and you’re good to go. It has a strong animalic, warm and sweet smell, with leathery nuances, and is mainly used in leather, animalic and chypre perfumes.

Bevears, males and females, use castoreum in combination with urine to mark their territory. The yellowish liquid secretion includes a waxy substance and helps beaver fur remain waterproof. You’re left with a smooth creamy and slightly powdery nutty almond vibe with a hint of vanilla sweetness and subtle floral undertones.As it settles the heliotrope creeps in… joined with a hint of sandalwood and vanilla to smooth everything out.

As it dries down the oud smooths out and is joined with a hint of green dark earthy patchouli and musk. The recently re-formulated perfume Beaver is really more about a beaver's life and habitat than their castoreum; there is a lot of water, linden blossom, watery leaves, bitter shootings, tree juices, and just a little bit of leather notes. Psychedelic Love is an EDP and projects nicely (about an arm’s length) for the first few hours, then sits closer to the skin… becoming an intimate scent that draws people in. Initio Parfums Prives are a fairly new French luxury niche perfume house that are making waves in the fragrance community.As the name suggests, this is a (unisex) rose based scent and contains a blend of natural Bulgarian rose and natural Turkish rose. The scent of castoreum depends on the beaver diet. Bevears are vegans, they eat tree bark and tree shootings. European beavers prefer birch, aspen, willow, poplar, and some herbaceous plants, like water lilies, cattail, reed.
