Technologies:Puncture Force Blunt Needle: The Blunt needle has a flat tip and won't split the casing wires. To puncture the tire, the blunt needle has to cut the casing wires. When I first got them I was unhappy because the knobs are .5mm shorter than the 2.35 version and I felt gypped. But I had to eventually realize that these are XC tires, and they are very good at that. The large footprint makes up for the shorter knobs and grip is very good. Rolling resistance is very low. I used these at Oak Mountain state park in AL one day when the trails were wet and greasy (when are they not at that place? lol) and had no trouble keeping up with my riding buddies. I started at 18/20 but kept dropping the air pressure until I was at like 13 for the front and 15 in the rear. In the dry they are grippy (for an xc tire) and fast.

This depends on the profile of the tyre, tread pattern, its durometer rating (how soft the rubber the tyre is made from is) and the overall build of the tyre. Sidewall: The bare side of the tyre, between the tyre tread and rim bread. Double or ‘two ply’ on DH tyres for extra stability and pinch flat resistance; airtight on UST tyres for tubeless running Narrower tyres, on the other hand, offer less cushioning and have less ‘footprint’ to grip with. Pinch flat resistance is lower on narrower tyres, too, unless they are being ran at higher pressures, which in turn could negatively affect grip.Fear not though, this doesn’t mean turnover here is slow in any way. I also like how this tread pattern has lots of little multi-directional sharp edges that really rip into the earth to deliver tons of traction. The Syerra feels pretty robust for an 850g tyre. You can really lean it over and slam the bike round corners without the sides bending excessively or burping sealant as some downcountry tyres do.
