Hopefully I can find some better words some day for my attempt at a review...but today is not that day! Speaking of book 9, I feel there's still so much left open and still lots for the rebels to do that I'm not sure how its all going to fit into just one more book. We shall see, most likely its going to be another huge one which I wont mind as long as the pace is steady throughout and we get happy endings for all my favourites. Lastly, what the first 85% of this book added to my life, the last of 10% of this book gave me a cardiac arrest. Every chapter just progressively got worse when I was already down, bleeding with my heart out of my chest and STILL the authors went and spit on me some more. I'll only find peace again, if know for sure that [redacted], [redacted] & [redacted] are going to be okay...

Special mention to Darius and Orion who are still having an epic bromance (and still spooning) even though they don't have the guardian bond anymore.As we know, the Vegas, the Heirs & Co. are on the run, joining the rebels and laying in hiding until they can take on the false King and his Shadow Princess. All the bonds are broken because of Darius and his deal with the Stars, Orion is free from his prisons but still Power Shamed and Darcy has just been mysteriously cursed by Lavinia. Not the brightest beginning, but, even so, this book was amazing and we had some of the best moments ever (more on that in the Favorite Scenes section). At least that's how the first 90% of this book went. Because the last 10% felt like the iceberg that has sunk the Titanic. Darcy and Orion have my whole heart. I think they're my favorite couple so far. Unlike most other couples, I have never been annoyed reading their story.

darius being a simp was just what this world needed. i cried when he said this. ugh this man just ugh i love him but want to punch him at the same time. I honestly don't know what I did to offend these authors so much that they causing me an insufferable amount of PAIN. Guess what? I can look into the future now and what I see is a lot of suffering for all of you who still have to read Heartless Sky and I really don't want to switch with you, because this book screams depression for sale! 😭 let's talk about the smut for a second. not to make this a competition, but tory and dairus have nothing on them 😌 the things Orion would do or say during sex jfc i'm not okay I don't even know with what characters to start, because relationship wise there was a looooot here, even if some characters definitely seem to move with the talent of snails towards each other ( *cough* Geraldine *cough* Seth). Buuut, here we go.Will you kiss me and be mine in every way imaginable? Will you accept a grumpy asshole of a Vampire as your one true mate?” I smiled up at him, my toes scrunching in the dead leaves beneath my feet as my wings fluttered a little. “I will. But only if you’ll accept a clumsy nerd of a princess as yours.” It was annoying and infuriating to watch the two of them, but it was also extremly funny at times. And Seth was so cute talking about his crush with Darcy all the time. Lionel visits Zodiac Academy to give a speech and is ambushed by Milton and the A.S.S. club and while they're trying to escape, they hide in Nova’s office where they witness Lionel using Dark Coercion on her.
