Description

Calling him "defective", Yorimitsu decides to take No. 6 under his belt as a shikigami, putting him to work under him. Thus began No. 6's life with humans, working for Yorimitsu until his eventual death, and even longer after that for his other descendants. He did all manner of tasks for them, from fetching herbs to killing a house full of people. Despite this, and despite him obediently and efficiently carrying out all of his tasks, his presence made the humans he lived with uncomfortable. Hanako counters her words by saying he doesn't matter, and that Nene had wished for this in the first place. She made a wish to him to live for ninety more years in the real world, and he says that if they save Aoi now, then Nene will die. Kou begins to say that doing this will make everyone happy, but he remembers when Teru told him to stop "acting like a hero" and cuts himself off. He then chomps down on No. 6's nose, who is thrown off by this and left stunned for a second. Seizing the chance, Kou stabs No. 6 with the sword, telling him that he's going to make everybody happy. The scene shifts to Teru, who is huddled up in a blanket in his room. He's staring out the window, watching everyone have fun and play with the fireworks without him, a fact that makes him quite cranky. Still, the fireworks make him pause, and he wonders how long it's been since he last played with them. Feeling enticed, Teru opens the door to his room, figuring he can go bug them for a bit... Natsuhiko is quiet for a moment, but he turns to Sakura and asks her if she would go on a date with him if that ever happens. Sakura admonishes him, saying he would also cease to exist, so he wouldn't be able to take her on a date. Natsuhiko says she doesn't know that for sure, and hits her with his cutest smile. Sakura relents, and says that she'll go on a date with him if he lives, much to Natsuhiko's joy.

Sakura further begins to explain how Aoi was a kannagi that was supposed to live and Nene was a kannagi that was supposed to die, but someone had tried to switch their lifespans. Aoi's lifespan would have been transferred to Nene if she had reached the Far Shore, but that didn't happen because Nene and her friends stopped it.In the 3rd stall of the female toilet on the 3rd floor of the old building, it's said that there's a supernatural who'll fulfil your wish in exchange for something important. No. 6 – The Reaper Representative: Hakubo On the night of tsukimi, the Reaper is rumored to steal the lives of those who fall asleep while waiting to view the moon and can be heard playing a melody on the flute by individuals who will die soon. As a result, people weave baskets all night to stay awake and protect those who can hear the melody. The current No. 6 is Shinigami-sama, the God of Death. His Boundary, which lies below the school, is the closest one to the Far Shore. His yorishiro is a girl named Sumire, an ancestor of Aoi who he guarded until she was sacrificed. No. 7 – Hanako-san of the Toilet ( トイレのはなこさん, Toire no Hanako-san) Representative: Hanako-Kun The most famous School Mystery. Hanako is referred to as a female, but Hanako is actually a male. He has the power to grant wishes to the living but as compensation, he must take something dear to them in return. Kamome Academy Supernaturals [ edit ] Akane relents, and says that they can settle their family disputes when they get home. For now, they need to discuss what their next move is. Skittishly, No. 6 tries to hide from her behind the sakura tree. Sumire says he never knows when to quit, and wonders whether she should punish him or not. She chooses violence, and proceeds to tie him up and torture him by placing a heavy stone on his lap. (TLN: this practice is called Ishidaki, and is a torture method practiced during the Edo period in Japan.)

The manga is licensed in North America by Yen Press. An anime television series adaptation produced by Lerche aired from January to March 2020. A new anime project was announced in December 2022, and was subsequently described as a "restart" of the series. The "first installment" of the project, an adaptation of After-School Hanako-kun, aired from October to November 2023; a four-episode sequel is set to premiere in Q4 2024. A second season of the original anime has also been announced.

Dangling upside down as he is, Hanako is not pleased with his current state of affairs, and asks if they have to do this the day after they all returned from the boundary. Kou won't stand for his attempt to dodge the issue, however, and demands he apologize to Nene. Nene replies that Hanako already has apologized to her, but Kou, not quite as trusting as Nene, asks Hanako if that means he'll stop acting on his own to help Nene. To both Kou and Nene's exasperation, Hanako neither confirms or denies this, giving them a nonanswer. In Nene's mind, she sees a glimpse of a young Sumire and No. 6, and with tears in her eyes she asks Sakura if this all happened because she hadn't wanted to peel off Sumire's seal. Sakura says that isn't so, and that she shouldn't take the blame, but Nene can't accept that.

[29] Standing on a cliff with a view of No. 6's boundary collapsing behind her, Sakura asks Nene what it is that she wishes to know.No. 6 makes a comment about how the number of injured animals in her care has increased, and that she must like taking care of them. But he questions why she does it: from his perspective, she gains nothing from doing it. Sumire responds by saying there is a meaning, and that these little animals can't survive without any help. Thus, she has total control over them: she controls whether they live or die. Their lives depend entirely on her. Sherman, Jennifer (July 4, 2019).
