About this deal

Sage dosing funnel: Specifically designed for 51mm and 54mm Solis, Sage, and Breville espresso machines, such as the Barista Express, Barista Touch, and Grind & Infuse Pro.

As the owner of Sage Barista Express, I highly recommend using a dosing funnel when grinding coffee beans. Without a funnel, it is common to experience overfilled baskets and coffee grounds spilling onto the machine. The dosing funnel eliminates these issues, allowing for precise measurement of 18-20 grams of coffee each time, with no waste. The reason Sage/Breville has done so well with their machines is that they're specialists, they hire people who have immense knowledge of the market they're selling within. This is why all of their machines have pre-infusion and come with standard and pressurized baskets, PID, and so on. This funnel is 3d-printed with food-grade PLA. PLA plastic or polylactic acid is a vegetable-based environment-friendly plastic material.♻♻It isn't the Sage Barista Pro, it's not the Sage Barista Express, but keep in mind how cheap it is, and if you're not buying one of these thinking that you're buying the same machine as the Barista Pro or Express if you want an inexpensive integrated grinder espresso machine, I don't think this is a bad shout. This would be the owner of the Breville brand name in the UK, a firm called Newell Brands, an American company that owns several other brands including Yankee Candle & Mr. Coffee – and, importantly, the coffee machine brand Sunbeam. While the storage compartment in the drip tray seems similar to the Sage machines, they've put individual storage places for everything, which I think takes this feature to the next level. To achieve a clean coffee grinding process, an additional tool comes in handy. You’ve probably experienced the frustration of struggling to keep all the coffee grounds in the filter basket, resulting in a messy countertop. That’s where the coffee dosing ring or dosing funnel comes into play, helping you prevent this coffee wastage.

What would be “good to know” would be how many bars of pressure the overpressure valve is restricting the pressure to? All my prints are high-resolution. Each 3d print is hand-finished cleaned and tested to ensure it is flawless and fits perfectly to the portafilter. The first obvious positive point is the value for money this machine offers. We're talking about an integrated grinder machine, which is somewhere in between the Sage Barista Express and Sage Barista Pro in terms of features, for a very low price.

Home baristas use different machines, so we offer different sizes that we have specifically designed for, and tested on, the portafilter of your espresso machine. This way we can guarantee the perfect fit. The dosing ring sits nicely on top the portafilter and not in it, which prevents ‘donut formation’. With the built-in magnets, the dosing ring snaps firmly in place and there is no space for the coffee to get in between the dosing ring and portafilter when using a WDT tool. Given that Newell Brands who owns Sunbeam also owns the brand Breville in the UK, it would be silly of them not to sell these coffee machines which sell as “Sunbeam” in Australia, as “Breville” in the UK, I mean – if I owned the company who owned both of these companies, I'd certainly make that move, wouldn't you? What's the point in owning such a brand name if you can't make the most of it? The Sage/Breville Confusion With the dosing funnel, achieving consistent, precise measurements for your coffee has never been easier. Wow, see what I did there? My grasp of the English language is really something to behold, isn't it? Even though I just stalled halfway through typing the word language, completely forgot how to spell it, ha. While I completely understand the reason that the company that owns both brands would release the machines that are sold as Sunbeam in Australia, as Breville in the UK – unfortunately, it does cause problems for my fellow coffee botherers, and that problem is simply due to how small the world is when you jump online.Guess what most vibe pumps have in common? You guessed it, they generate 15 bars of pressure. I say most as there are some that generate up to 19 bars, but more is not better when it comes to pressure for espresso, which is what some brands would like you to think.

For anyone who's not seen the Sage coffee machines in question, here they are, decide for yourself if there are any similarities here: Ready to get a quality espresso coffee machine and make the best espresso drinks? Third wave speciality coffee sees coffee as an artisanal food, produced to achieve the ultimate taste experience from bean to cup. When it comes to replicating third wave speciality coffee at home, there’s no cutting corners. This means you'll have to use a quality espresso machine for best results. That’s why Sage created a range of automatic and manual espresso coffee maker models that honour tradition and techniques that define the very fundamentals required for third wave speciality coffee. Please keep your dosing funnel cool, away from any source of heat, ie. under the sun, or on top of your coffee machine, dishwasher, etc.🚫While in this case, I don't understand why they've put the decimal there (1.7 is approx 17 grams, for example) but once you realise this is set to give you a rough idea of the number of grams it's grinding, it actually works really well, and I think it's a clever way to do it. Well OK, looks aren't always deceiving, I can do approximately zero one-armed press-ups, but they can be, so I may be wrong about this, it may be absolutely fine, but using the old “if it seems too good to be true…” wisdom, it would seem too good to be true, to me, to think that this machine at this price, is going to come without its issues when it comes to durability, and I suspect that the weakest link in the long term, maybe this impeller. I was a bit confused by the grinding timer to start with, as I assumed it was in seconds as the Sage machines are, and I commented that they seemed like slow settings, however, it then dawned on me that these aren't seconds, this is an estimated number of grams. Firstly to run through the four machines in this range. Well, there are actually three in the Barista Max range, and the Barista Mini is clearly a doppelganger of the Sage duo temp pro. The review is purely on the Barista Max +, but I'll briefly mention the full range: Breville Barista Mini VCF125 There's roughly a 20-second wait for steam, but once it's ready the steam wand performs fairly well. I'd say it's similar in this regard to the Sage machines, I've not done a side by side comparison, but I don't think there's a massive amount in it, and I was fairly impressed with the results.
