About this deal

Harley Merlin can sense people's emotions, among other things. It's how she snagged her first job pinpointing cheaters at a casino. Wade - one of the main characters, I could connect with him as a person easily enough and liked him. Harley makes no more than a cameo appearance. This is definitely Finch’s story. It starts off with a bang, and keeps right on rolling from there, as Finch faces all sorts of life-threatening challenges attempting to satisfy the demand of Erebus to find the Fountain of Youth.

It’s been a year since Katherine tried to take over the world, and Finch Merlin is itching to do something other than odd jobs for Erebus, God of Darkness. Erebus promises he’ll free Finch of his servitude after he completes one final task—finding the Fountain of Youth. However, before Finch gets started on this new adventure with an old friend and colleague, it is necessary that he locate a magical artifact that will allow him to complete his current task. Bella Forrest enjoys offering advice to those who are aspiring to be authors. She encourages them to continue reading in their spare time; books inside and outside of the writer’s genre can give a raw outlook and arouse fresh thoughts for new advancements in the up and coming novel. Forrest recommends studying another language to expand an author’s understanding of grammar and their grasp on their native language. She also urges prospective authors to set a minimum amount of time devoted solely to writing every day. These are the big questions in this latest installment of Harley’s story. It’s a fun read, though I could have done without the chapters written from Wade’s point of view. His voice was so bland, it didn’t add anything to his character, or the story, and in fact, I felt it detracted from both. Wade described by Harley has much edgier and more interesting personality than the first-person narrator Wade in this novel. A pity. Could have did with out the Wade chapters. He was dull, boring and slightly obsessive over Harley. I went through those fast. I would have preferred him to have a more mysterious nature of never knowing exactly what he was going through his head. He was my favorite character until now. I found it funny that his Irish accent slipped, his parents work in Texas but his mom has a bit of a southern accent.??? That bit bothered me, Among other things.

The new Director of the San Diego Coven isn’t exactly friendly, and Katherine has already gained untold power. More than ever, Harley needs answers about the rituals Katherine plans to perform to become like Eris, goddess of discord and destruction. But she has no clue where she got these freakish powers because she spent her childhood jumping from home to home in the foster system, and her father left her with nothing more than a cryptic note. the characters were likable & realistic; I liked Wade, Santana, Tatyana, Astrid, Raffe, Alton, Dylan. In the midst of all Harley’s trials by fire, Wade, who is Harley’s romantic interest throughout this series, continues to stand by her side and support her in every way possible. The plot seems to bounce from one inept action after the other. With facts that support decisions at one point being contradicted later on. I find it very hard to read while i'm grinding my teeth at how the plot is advanced. The author also fails to describe the tower in any great detail and I find myself struggling to picturing any of it, which prevents me from fully immersing in the story.
