About this deal

Some may say that this book is just one of many conspiracy theories written about JFK and RFK assassinations. The author does a good job of describing the covert intel war on the Iberian Peninsula. It seems it became the central theater in the war between MI 6 and German Intelligence - the Abwehr. Especially in the early war, most of the German controllers were based in either Spain or Portugal. In telling the story of the Abwehr’s attempts to get agents into Britain, Mr. Macintyre does an excellent job to discussing the weaknesses and frankly the gullibility in the German agents controlling their British Spy ring. Rebecca – I think she’s quite a random character to want to mention but she was actually one of the most likeable in the book in my opinion. She was the only character that didn’t feel like she had a dark secret or hidden intentions and I liked that. She didn’t deserve to be in the situation she was in. I wanted more for her. Why did you do that Malorie?

I’m just struggling to see how we went from Noughts and Crosses to this book - they kind of feel like three very separate books connected loosely by the original world. It’s so disjointed and jumpy and the actual full outline for the series makes next to no sense. It’s such a shame because the original premise so was stellar, I think as a standalone Noughts and Crosses with a bit more work could’ve been amazing. Meggie McGregor: Supporting character in all books. Callum's mother, who had been Sephy's nanny until Jasmine fired her. She convinces Sephy to move in with her and is very close to Callie Rose. However, a threat to call social services about Callie Rose estranges Sephy from her.

Czerniawski’s abundant self-assurance made Mathilde feel instantly secure. “Every time he spoke of the war his eyes flashed. He would not accept that Poland had been defeated. He radiated a kind of confidence and the enthusiasm of youth, an intelligence and willpower which would alternately give place to the airs of a spoilt, affectionate child.” They met again the next night, and the next. “A great bond of friendship was swiftly forged.” Both would later deny they had ever been lovers with such vehemence that the denials were almost certainly untrue. Tobey's guilt over Rebecca's death leads him to believe he no longer deserves Callie Rose, estranging himself from her. Sephy and Nathan marry, and she's pregnant with a son, Troy, by Callie Rose's next birthday. During the party, Tobey and Callie Rose have a huge argument over his continued secrecy about his involvement in McAuley's death. He decides to end his and Callie Rose's relationship for good.

With Gary still playing his games, Cross is horrified when another unspeakable crime happens in his very own precinct. Can he outsmart a psychopath? Or will Soneji take him out first? Read this unforgettable thriller to find out! Forget fiction when you are buying beach reading this summer. Ben Macintyre’s factual account is more gripping than what you will find anywhere else. It is a story unsurpassed in the long history of intelligence.” She meets Jaxon, a hot-tempered man with a band, the Midges. He offers Sephy a singing part, but the Noughts are prejudiced against her because she is a Cross. In her emotional turmoil, she begins to neglect Callie Rose.

In addition to the double agents, the author does look at some of the other methods the Allies used to reinforce what they where sending their German controllers. This includes the famous rubber vehicles and planes, false radio traffic, using General Patton as a decoy etc.

Never before revealed facts about the workings of the Intelligence Service in the build up to D-Day in the Second World War. Ben Macintyre’s remarkable book is a gripping revelation.” Sam Giancana was christened Mono "Jimmy" Salvatore Giancana but was called Mooney or Sam by friends. This is the non-fiction account told by his brother and nephew who was his Godson and namesake. Realising that Sephy wishes to die, he decides that killing her would help her, and opts to leave Sephy to suffering. He gives Sephy permission to call an ambulance for Minerva and tells her that since he knows how much she cares for her family, he will use her baby to hurt her. Sephy threatens to kill him if he hurts her child, but resorts to pleading with Jude to leave the two of them alone. He leaves just as the ambulance arrives, with a new plan in mind; Sephy makes Minerva lie about her injuries. Kamal tells Sephy that if she keeps her child, Callum will be hanged, but if she has the abortion, he will serve years in prison instead. Kamal makes a similar offer to Callum, wanting Callum to publicly admit to raping Sephy. Both decide to keep the baby, and Callum is hanged at the gallows. Macintyre does a fine job depicting this extraordinary cast and exposing the ambiguous world of espionage….compelling.”
