A fabric's waterproof properties are measured using a rating called its hydrostatic head. If a tent has a hydrostatic head of 3000mm it means that a 3 metre column of water can be placed on its surface before any drops will show through the underside of the fabric. (The Ministry of Defence in the UK classifies fabric with a hydrostatic head of 800mm+ as waterproof). Coleman XXL Bedrooms are designed to be mores spacious than the average tent bedroom. A rising sewn-in PE groundsheet and fully taped polyester flysheet, with an impressive hydrostatic head of 6,000mm, provides great water and bug proofing. An additional footprint and carpet is available (sold separately) for more protection and warmth underfoot – and storm straps help keep this sturdy structure grounded in high winds. There is also the option to add a vestibule (sold separately) to create an enclosed porch. This adds another weather-protected space for gear or for somewhere to sit and enjoy your surroundings.
