About this deal
The sleek red box contains almost everything you need to mix the perfect Negroni: the perfect glasses, a mixing spoon, a recipe book and a bottle of Campari. All you’ll need is ice, orange for a garnish, gin (we recommend Manchester Gin x Harvey Nichols Classic Gin, our collaboration with Spirit of Manchester), and a vermouth (if you want to go classic, we love Cocchi, but for something a little different go for the wonderful Discarded Sweet Cascara). The new bottle has been created as a ‘visual ode to Milano’, taking aesthetic cues from each element of the Italian city’s culture.
The nose has the classic Campari aroma: bitter orange, a sweet berry and celery aroma, and a hint of sweet orange and wormwood. Overall, the aroma is like that of any other equal parts Negroni you’ve had.Change the base: As in the Kingston Negroni, the Boulevardier or the Old Pal. I love a mezcal Negroni.
Italian apéritif Campari has revealed an ‘evolutionary redesign’ of its bottle, inspired by its home city of Milan. The new bottle reflects “the sleek minimalist fashion and contemporary design that Milano is known for”
What is a Negroni?
Change the bitter: Try a different red bitter (soft, orangey Aperol, or spicy Bruto Americano), or steer wider and replace it with another kind of bitter — as in the Cin-Cyn, which uses earthy Cynar. The White Negroni replaces Campari with Suze or another gentian liqueur for a less citrusy, more herbal result.
