D. and co-author Gary Ezzo are two of the world's leading experts on baby sleep and feeding patterns. Jennifer and Laura’s videos were reassuring, comforting and provided easy tools to soothe and get baby to sleep more. With 40+ bite-sized videos, we cover everything from feeding and sleeping, to schedule transitions and typical days at different stages.but, the second you have social plans at night or you’re traveling…following these rules exactly is super challenging slash caused me a lot of anxiety TBH. I do find the schedules helpful as a guideline to what baby's day might look like at different stages, but I wish the authors acknowledged that different babies have different sleep needs and the schedules won't work for everyone!

I’m not totally opposed to cry it out or sleep training, and I do believe it can be on a spectrum of gentle to extreme. MOC tells you exactly what to do and when to get the results you want, and that is much appreciated. The other part that wasn't for me was using the extinction method (leaving baby to cry without going in at all to soothe him) at 12 weeks, for 12 hours/night.All the advice is geared towards raising a baby in the easiest way for you, to the detriment of your baby. Stepping into the world of parenthood, one of the most challenging hurdles is ensuring that our little ones establish healthy sleep habits. And so on and so on, just so so helpful for first time parents , something to get reference from when needed. In regards to the feeding schedule being very regimented, when breastfeeding is being established early on, and when growth spurts and major neurological development are happening, there will be cluster feeding and it is not something that can go by a timer. Laura is a mother of five, a pediatric nurse with over 25 years of experience, an entrepreneur, an author, public speaker and a highly sought-after infant-care consultant who has an international following.Mums really need to stop shaming other mums who do not want to stay up all night feeding their baby. If you just want to do the sleep training, you can just read that part and maybe a section or to before/related to that. In our second book, we’ll guide you through everything you need to know for babies 6-15 months, including how to keep those amazing sleep habits going and navigating the upcoming developmental milestones. Honest opinion, I found this book super helpful and the typical day schedules changed thing big time for us. However, the routines established courtesy of this book have really helped to make sleep possible no matter where we are (at home on the East coast, traveling on the East coast, in Chicago, or even Hawaii).

Since I'd decided to room-share for longer than that, according to the AAP guidelines, I knew I wasn't really "doing" MOC. Sometimes a book goes temporarily out of print - and sometimes no audio version has ever been recorded. Let’s start off with an anecdote: It’s a cool, rainy afternoon and your curious toddler decides that the living room bookcase resembles a fantastic climbing adventure. i’ve been hesitant to share our schedule with y’all because seriously…every baby is SO different and i am by no means saying this will work for every baby!I won't lie, when people talk about their 6, 9, 12, *24* month old children who still don't sleep through the night, I quietly thank MOC. having Shiloh on a schedule has allowed me/Michael to still work + structure our days around her feedings and nap times. It's written from a perspective of 2 nurses and not intended to define psychological effects on children. When American journalist Pamela Druckerman has a baby in Paris, she doesn't aspire to become a "French parent.
