The first hour you get nice projection then it goes close to the skin and later on kind of comes back for some reason, which is odd but cool too. Lalique Encre Noire A L'Extreme Eau de Parfum is a Woody Aromatic fragrance for men and was created by perfumer Nathalie Lorson. If you select the note ‘ vetiver‘ in Bois de Jasmin’s Find a Perfume feature, you’ll find around 20 reviews of perfumes sharing this earthy, woody leitmotif. I guess it’s vaguely woody in that it has that pine-y green freshness to it, but it really doesn’t feel overwhelmingly woody to me, more greenish and aromatic.

And, when separated from the musky dark masculine perceptions the marketing and scent pyramid set up, I can almost kind of see it. I know almost everyone says here it's for fall/winter but I'm gonna give it a try in the summer too considering it smells rather citrusy fresh on my skin.PM me if you live in NYC and want this and a full bottle of Kouros (also disgusting) for like ten bucks. r/fragrance is an inclusive, adult community for discussing finished retail perfumes and other scented personal and home-care products. The base notes transfer back and forth so this is quickly becoming my signature scent no matter what else I spray as I ride pretty much daily in the summer. While there are some obvious differences between Sycomore EDT and EN a l’Extreme (ENALE), I am very glad that I made this purchase. First sniff this reminded me of bently for men intense, but smelling them side by side, while in the very broad ballpark of scent family, they smell entirely different and my scent memory was deceiving me.

If Encre noir is smell of conifer forest in november, after the rain, with earth smell, than extreme is all that but smelling it through a cotage with disfunctional chimney after cooking spiced wine. I'm guessing the original formulation has been watered down to a fragrant woody p*ss to maximise the 🤑💲💰 as is the norm of companies these days. Vetiver and cypress combine to make this a great office/everyday scent and, other than in very hot weather (I'm a Brit so that means anything over 20°c), it's wearable all year round. The opening has a disagreeable burnt odour, but once it settles down the heart notes last long and are thick; Ink, wet leaves, herbal smoulder and damp meadow smell.

I spray myself and leave for work, by the time I get there (30mins) smell is non existent on clothes and body. Encre Noire is bracing and uplifting, and its complete lack of sweetness means that it stays this way for hours. A l'Extreme is effectively the same scent as the OG with a few additions which serve two purposes: To create a more well-rounded, base-heavy scent, and to clash painfully with the original vetiver. I now have five men's fragrances that are the 'be all and end all' for me and Lalique Encre Noir a I 'Extreme is number five. And just thank you in general for all the beautifully written reviews and the information given here. When I first sprayed spicebomb extreme, the cumin note in the opening ruined the whole fragrance for me and I couldn't understand why it is so universally beloved.

I don't have a very sophisticated nose, having only recently come into the fragrance world, but I do pick up a little bit of the Cyprus, Patchouli, and Incense. But for me the burnt smokiness lowers it overall, probably because it reminds me so much of man in black. Before using your Lalique product, please read the list of ingredients located on the packaging to be certain that the ingredients are suitable for your personal use. A fresh and woody top note drawn on the radiance of vetyveryl acetate and the aromatic naturalness of cypress.

Incense lends its dusky depth to the heart, and with vetiver from both Haiti and Java, the dry earthiness is tinged with a salty note that is ever-so-moreish. I'll stick to the original after this bottle is gone but it's worth a try if it sounds interesting to you. Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary, Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore. Its stimulating core combines mysterious notes of vetiver, Bourbon and Haitian vetiver with the warm and enveloping notes of cashmere wood and musk.
