Even with the above warnings, I've had chessex mats that have lasted for DECADES and I'd STILL be using one that was about 25 years old if I hadn't lost it somewhere in moving, it had a little faint red starburst on it that was fading over time which had been drawn to show a campfire. I learned this the hard way, and I still have not-so-faint red marks on my biggest map from a game session over ten years ago. I use wet erase markers, and from time to time I spray them with my wife's bleach cleaner to remove the residue. Dip some alcohol, rub a little, dip some acetone, rub a little more, then dip some alcohol and rub some more.

It has the advantage of being able to tear away the top layer, and is good for locations you visit a lot. Das einzige was ich bemängeln könnte wäre, das ich eigentlich ein Schwarzen W 100 % bestellt hatte und einen W10 bekommen habe aber das ist nicht schlimm. Daniel Thrace wrote: Ah yes, my friend the other DM advised that regardless of what you use, if for some reason it is really stuck on there you can use cheap beer as a cleaner and it works very well. Make the grid in a way that you can connect the two whiteboards to form a bigger mat, so one side where the boards would connect, have no margin. The mats feature either 1" hexes or squares, or, for the reversible ones, 1" hexes backed by 1" squares.I'd still use it, except the threat of the metal dice used by obstinate, dice worshiping players is a potentially dangerous situation. I've found the most important thing is to clean the map after use - leaving it a week or two for the next game session is sure to leave marks.

Do not try and roll it up nice and tight like you would normal paper to protect it, you'll be doing it a disservice.Even though these are entirely made in the USA, Covid-related production issues abounded throughout the process of getting these mats made.

Test them out on a corner and let the ibk stay for a couple days and then try and erase and see how it goes. I've also found that these marks fade over time, and after 30+ years of use the entire surface has an even lair of faint background stain. There are a few other never do things but it has been so long ago, I can't remember them but in general.Move the board but position it so you can se one row of triangles through the holes and repeat until done.

And now I've discovered that the whole battlemat curves up off the table in a neat-o arch style reminiscent of the Roman Aqueducts. I generally don't draw anything until right before a fight, then erase it immediately after with a spray bottle and paper towels.

A fellow DM has the Chessex Role Playing Mat 4 Pack (overhead projection water based markers) and they work very well too. If it's curling, he puts some books on the corners and usually by the time we play it's pretty flat. PERFECT TO USE WITH A HUGE VARIETY OF GAMES - All battle grid mats are great for wargaming and popular fantasy roleplaying games such as Dungeons and Dragons, Warhammer, Pathfinder, X Wing, and other tabletop and multiplayer miniatures games.
