About this deal

The story followed the format of a dual, past and present timeline as it developed through changing scenes, told from the points of view of Adam and various others, who each had their dilemmas and difficulties to bear, though Adam is in a better place now. When the police arrive and knock at the door,at first no one answers then the door is opened by pensioner Richard. Considerei o mistério inicial muito interessante, a temática central sempre atual, a protagonista detestável, todos os detalhes da personalidade bem construídos, no entanto, esperava um desfecho mais inesperado. They used to be Dick and Peggy Rowan and their daughter, Camilla, was convicted around 17 years ago of killing her baby 5 years before that when she was 17.

I've always been a voracious reader and viewer of crime - I've learned so much from the outstanding writing that we now see on crime TV like Line of Duty or Broadchurch, and I've tried to recreate the experience of watching series like that for my readers. The sub-plot about Somer is quite sad, but the three new additions to the team are all great and it does not take long to get to know them. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. As Adam and his hardworking team look into the past, at the previous police investigation and Camilla as a schoolgirl, her multiple pregnancies, her friends and family, and the present, who is the dead man and how did he come to make the fateful visit to the farmhouse to see the Swanns? As she did with the previous novel, Cara Hunter provides a little background précis of the central characters at the start of the book, which shows wonderful practical consideration for her audience.

The multimedia is superbly realised as ever and just shows the author’s continued ability to captivate.

Cara Hunter is the author of the Sunday Times bestselling crime novels Close to Home , In the Dark , No Way Out , All the Rage and The Whole Truth all featuring DI Adam Fawley and his Oxford-based police team. Her baby’s body was never found but, after keeping her pregnancy secret from her family and friends, he simply disappeared the day Camilla left hospital with him and her explanations of what happened to him were vague and inconsistent. It is thrilling in its entirety and the storytelling still draws you in, so the signs are that this series is going from strength to strength. I really loved that the story is told through a mixture of narrative, transcripts of interviews, Wikipedia-style entries, online chats, letters, news headlines and lots more.Like every book in the series, this was a wild joyride from start to finish, and the fact that this is based on a true crime is mind-blowing, guess I've got some more true-crime docs. There were also transcripts of the Netflix series, and transcripts of police interviews, which I really loved as it eliminated the need for body language descriptions and dialogue tags, yet conveyed pertinent points concisely and succinctly. If you've been following the series you'll have no trouble diving right in but if this is your first foray into the world of Adam Fawley, I think the book stands well on its own other than you miss out on the background of the characters. Despite these slight misgivings I enjoyed Hope to Die and will certainly look for book seven when it comes out.
