The design for this 72 unit (of which 12 affordable / HA) apartment block replaces a former car park building and launderette, later used as a community centre. With its curved forms and pale render, the Isokon Building (also known as Lawn Road Flats) has been likened to an ocean liner. A pinky-cream painted block of flats with extravagantly cantilevered balconies, it stands as a built reproach to the older forms of domestic architecture it overlooks.
