About this deal

My oil temp got up to 106c then dropped off to 101c but no idea if that is normal as I don’t usually lock the gearbox in 5th. It made a trouble-free long distance trip to Essex for music recording activities with an old friend. The DPF cleaners (fuel additives) contain catalysts that will help in both passive and active regeneration as they increase exhaust gas temperature during normal running.

The had had three other cars in the last month with the same issue however, so it looks like it might be a dodgy fuel batch. it said it could be a number of things when it flashes, some of the syptoms that i have noticed as well are the car doesnt ahve much power, 1st gear is useless and even in 2nd,3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th the turbo is just lacking in power not sure if this is due to the car going into limp mode? The ECU will see this more favourable exhaust gas temperature and take it into consideration when calculating/predicting DPF saturation level.More info needed but I would guess that the amplifier and/or power supply is possibly on its way out and the act of switching between sockets restarts it and temporarily clears the issue. Interrupted regenerations lead to the excess diesel pumped into the combustion chamber (to do the regeneration) running down the bores and raising the engine oil level. I am working on the assumption that if one plug fails, the engine will still start as 5 other cylinders will work and the 6th will get compression from the other 5 turning and so work.

Just popping into my local Skoda dealer isn’t an option, lockdown aside, as the nearest one is over 100 miles away after they closed the Inverness dealership. I know where you`re coming from when you say it might not have been done but I have no choice but to trust him or anybody else for that matter. Yeah to echo what ppl have said, its usually an electrical fault to do with the Cruise/Traction conrol and Braking system. which is the internal lights, if there is no power to this fuse, it causes the glowplug light to flash.I recently bought OBDeleven, a scan of codes when I first got it showed "intermittent low fuel pressure" since changing the filter it had not reoccured.

Plus, continued cranking would eventually work if a leak was the problem - fuel would get there eventually - I presume.Had the car checked out by an Audi independent and the timing belt was out and luckily no damage to engine. In most cases a cracked fuel filter housing results in fuel draining from the supply lines so the longer the car is left standing (overnight would be worst case), the harder it is to prime the system and fire up. Used to have an nice person there years ago that helped me source euro it bits and ship them to me in the states. This will identify the fault codes (DTC's - Diagnostic Trouble Codes) that are present within the various ECU's. I know the OP doesn't want to get involved in the electrics but this comment might help someone else.
