The work of this initiative has centered around creating an ecosystem where information is exchanged between the large number of disconnected data systems used by schools in the state based on pre-defined standards. Phase one of the project is expected to create about 75 jobs, which is about the same as those previously working at the former Endicott Power Plant.The announcement builds on Michigan’s leadership in advanced manufacturing and clean energy; in fact, Michigan was recognized as the top state in the Midwest for clean energy jobs in the Clean Jobs America report from Environmental Entrepreneurs released in September 2023. Investments in the development of a robust clean hydrogen market, supply chain and workforce have the potential to create up to 8,400 jobs in Michigan by 2035 and expand economic opportunities. The Hydrogen Hub has the potential to power a number of sectors that matter to the Heartland, from manufacturing to transportation and will help us make meaningful progress in our work toward a clean energy economy. The facility has a modular design, and the last module for the combined heat and power plant is expected to be installed by mid-2022.

The Hub for Teaching and Learning Resources (often referred to simply as the “Hub”) collaborates with faculty to strengthen a campus teaching culture rooted in scholarship that supports student learning, encourages measured pedagogical risk-taking, fosters teaching for equity, and builds community among faculty and students.
