You do not need to read them both, but if you’d like to read them both, it doesn’t matter which one you read first. It deals with young romance in a sensitive and age appropriate way, encouraging mutual respectful and unrushed, considerate behaviour within relationships. They are just too adorable together and I guess I’m guilty of thinking “They are Nick and Charlie” too! Charlie is having a hard time enjoying Christmas since his entire family is focusing on his anorexia and his stay in a psychiatric ward, so he escapes to Nick’s house for some comfort. it was weird but really cool seeing nick and charlie's relationship two years after the time period of heartstopper. However I think it handles important topics very well in a way young readers will appreciate, and more LGBT+ stories can only be a good thing. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. So while I admire the cute repackaging, I can't oversee the dollar/pound signs twinkling in the publisher's eyes. Nick and Charlie takes place in June-July about one year and three months after the end of Heartstopper Volume Four.With all four currently published volumes of Heartstopper and these two novellas, they could all be read in about eight hours, so it’s not an unreasonable amount of time if you need to binge-read something fun. I loved seeing Charlie's side of the story a lot as we saw how his mental health got better with time, even though you can clearly still see him struggling with it through out the novella. with all of the audios that i've heard from this book literally everywhere, i know somewhat of what's going to happen.
