But Stay Puft himself can’t do anything more than shove Ghostbusters backward and slime them, so play devolves into players mindlessly rolling attacks before Stay Puft can reach his goal at the top of the board.

It features unique illustrations and figures based on original artwork and designs by Dan Schoening, the artist of IDW's Ghostbusters comic book series. I don't know but If the Stargate SG1 board game could use real artwork than they could here as well.

Depending on whether the gate you roll is closed or open different things occur based on the scenario card’s instructions, so you might find three ghosts suddenly entering the fray or even slime being hurled at you, as if battling the spectral denizens of the spirit realm wasn’t gross enough already. However I think a lot of the fun of the game would come from four people bickering with each other, being unable to decide whether their limited actions are best spent helping each other or trying to bust a nearby ghost or make a dash back to ECTO-1. Find somebody, ANYBODY, whether it's an old lady in a park, or a foreign exchange student from a country you've never heard of. Heck, at first glance, I still think that every tall older Russian man I see is Vigo the Carpathian.

I can play in generic streets and parks with the board game but only Kickstarter backers get to play in the hotel and apartment block that make up the core of the film's best fight scenes. The bulk of the stretch goals were additions to the master game line that everyone benefited from in the long run. I still laugh at almost every Bill Murray line, but I’d have to say that Ernie Hudson has the best when he shouts, “When someone asks if you are a god, you say… yes!

Meanwhile, mission four saw us having to make a mad dash for ECTO-1 at one point to stop the spirit world from running out - it started with hardly any ghosts so we had to keep it topped up pretty constantly. Tempering that excitement, though, is the fact that its made by Cryptozoic, a team that has a less than sterling reputation. In 1990, Milton Bradley GmbH released a updated version of the game that included redrawn designs on the walls and board. The object of the game was to obtain for ghost cards and make it up the stairs while avoiding the traps.
