Tasty Lancashire cheese is made by the same traditional method as Creamy Lancashire but is matured for longer, from 12 weeks to 24 months.

The current generation completed a clean sweep and took all the prizes at the 2006 Royal Lancashire Agricultural Show, which was named 'The Battle of the Lancashires'. Made by Andrew Shorrock in Goosnargh near Preston, the Lancashire Bomb Cheese is a true regional classic. Andrew, now the family’s third generation cheesemaker, created the iconic Lancashire bomb over 25 years ago, for a friend moving to America. When the cheese is at room temperature there is nothing quite like taking a sharp knife, removing the top off the cheese (a bit like you would a boiled egg) and scooping out the smooth cheese with a spoon.
