Jim has worked with professional golfers, Olympic gold medalists, Heisman Trophy winners and more. Inside this awesome book, he will show you how to: Your LEFT SHOULDER is the first fulcrum or hinge for your left arm, and it allows leverage to store and release the centrifugal force generated by your rotating torso. As you rotate around your stable axis, momentum builds up because of the changing relationship between your left shoulder, your left arm and the club shaft. The swing forms an expanding circle. Your axis of rotation is the center of this circle. Your left arm and the club shaft form the radius of this circle. Your Club head moves outward along the arc of this circle and impacts the golf ball resting tangent to the arc, upon the line of line of flight.

It will then move to the right if the club face is open and remains open to the start line through ball separation. The golf ball will start STRAIGHT at the target if the club head comes into the impact zone on plane.

The instructor can only inform and explain — the student must absorb and apply.” Can you get golf instruction to learn about the Golfing Machine Method? The Golfing Machine, LLC was established in 2002 with the goals to reignite its authorized instructor program, continue its expansion worldwide, promote "The Golfing Machine" text, and establish a professional organization that provides continuing education and information on "The Golfing Machine" to professional golf instructors and the public. During that time we would often go together to a driving range across from the University of Washington. There he would hit balls and use me as a sounding board to critique him. He would often take the time just to observe people on the range hitting balls, making comments like “ten years from now that guy won’t be any better. All he needs is a little definitive information.” He was always analyzing people and working on his own swing as well. The pros at the range would point him out to people and say to their students, “See him? That’s how you should do it!” And he even worked on my swing which improved greatly under his instruction – another proof point that the ideas he was writing about were solid and applicable. It will then move to the right if the club face is open and remains open to the target line through ball separation.

There is little excuse for forcing the average weekend golfer, who has some strong tendency or other, to adopt any procedure or stroke pattern that calls for the elimination of that tendency. It is far easier to develop a stroke pattern that properly compensates for it.” I love that his tone is conversational, his advice is easy to understand, and the insights can also help other parts of your life. As he said in the book, “Confidence is crucial to good golf. It is also simply the aggregate of the thoughts you have about yourself.” Teachers are hindered by student’s attitudes, physiology, practice time and desire — it is up to the student to listen, absorb and apply the information given in the classroom (the lesson tee) in the best way for them personally. Sometimes this take two seconds, two minutes or two weeks, but if students review the lesson tape they are given they will see what the instructor is trying to do over the long haul. And if they have questions, they need to ask! That is what teachers are there for in the first place! For example, if you come into impact from the inside on the downswing with an open face, it will result in a push slice ball flight. Conversely, a shot that comes with a closed clubface from a neutral path will result in a straight shot that draws. As long as I can remember, I’ve loved the range, and always embrace the challenge of learning new ways to make a golf ball do what I would like it to do. So, today I’m sharing my “top 5” tips for making practice fun and productive. It takes a little time at first, but once you get used to it, it’s the most efficient way to return the clubhead to the ball. Think about it this way: ‘If you were to design a machine to swing a golf club, how would that machine do it?’ You wouldn’t program the machine to have a bunch of excess movement. You’d build it so it’s simple and repeatable. That’s what my swing is. Tom is TPI Certified- Level 1, Golf Level 2, Level 2- Power, and Level 2- Fitness and believes that you cannot reach your maximum potential as a player with out some focus on your physiology.

A detailed account of Homer’s journey to write The Golfing Machine can be found in the book “Homer Kelley's Golfing Machine: The Curious Quest That Solved Golf” by Scott Gummer. If you’re going to learn about everything golf-related, why not learn from arguably the greatest player of all time? I know very early in my teaching career, I tried to force most people into a model swing. It was one that was way too complex for some levels of players to understand, yet alone achieve, without hitting balls for several months. Many factors influence Distance, Direction, Curve, and Trajectory. The Mass or weight of the club head, it's speed and the direction of the impact are primary factors that affect Initial ball flight. Other factors are; the angle formed between the ball's center of gravity and the club head's center of gravity and the angle of the club face, loft and lie both at impact and when the ball leaves the club face. The particular coefficient of restitution (compression) as well as the aerodynamic features designed into your ball also influence it's flight characteristics and of course the weather and the terrain where it lands will influence it's roll out. This book will help you commit to goals, persevere when things get tough on the links and learn how to move past failure. Finally, he will help you learn how to train your mind to create a positive self-image so you have more confidence than ever before.

More from the Wedge Guy

Dr. Parent teaches golfers (including several PGA Tour pros) how to clear their minds, focus and play at the moment. Zen Golf is one of the most famous self-help books to help you master your mind and improve your confidence. The downswing should be much the same, with the shoulders, hands, and clubhead traveling at different speeds but remaining at the same RPM. When rhythm is off, it means the clubhead tries to overtake the hands, and the hands try to overtake the turning of the shoulders. This leads to a loss of power and control. (6) also closely associated with power accumulators (see "understanding chapter 6" above), and the "Basic Motion." Also see Jeffrey Mann's analysis of this topic. Although the above video sounds absolutely ridiculous, the concepts that J.C. briefly mentions are unbelievably useful in building an effective and repeatable golf swing. I strongly recommend to those looking for serious improvement to struggle through this masterpiece of golfing wisdom. After reading the book 3 times, watching several related videos on YouTube, and implementing the concepts into my own game, **I can finally understand this satirical video! ** I hope the same for you. Homer’s vision was to create an Authorized Instructor network, so instructors could share the knowledge contained in his book and ensure its proper instruction for golfers worldwide. Up to his death in 1983, Homer worked diligently to realize that vision.”
