Description

When I first got this book for review, I was excited to read another sisters book and in all honesty I felt like I rushed through it the first time trying to take it all in as I was excited to return to such an interesting and satisfying series. I think you’re amazing, Margaret. You and the animals have taught me so much. I’m going to miss you all terribly.” Working on the vast and isolated Kinnaird estate, she is employed by the enigmatic and troubled laird, Charlie Kinnaird. Her decision alters her future irrevocably when she meets Chilly, an elderly gypsy man who has lived for years on the estate. Like a furnace in here,” Cal complained as we made our way along a passageway that smelled strongly of fresh paint. “The laird’s wife has put in some fancy heating system and Beryl hasn’t learned how tae control it yet. Beryl!” he shouted as he led me into a large ultramodern kitchen, illuminated by numerous spotlights. I blinked to let my eyes adjust as I took in the vast, gleaming center island, the rows of shiny wall cupboards, and what looked like two state-of-the-art ovens.

The sisters’ journey through the wilds of West Virginia, disaster-prone from the start, takes a turn when they meet two train-hoppers with dangerous secrets, and Jazz learns that Olivia holds a dark secret of her own in the form of their mother's final unread letter. Mistrust, resentments and new attachments threaten to tear the two apart, until a final bizarre misadventure forces them to decide what’s really important. Tiggy D’Aplièse, in her mid-twenties, learns that her father – Pa Salt, an elusive billionaire who adopted his six daughters from around the globe – has died. Trusting her instincts, Tiggy moves to the remote wilds of Scotland and takes a job doing what she loves: caring for animals. Working on the vast and isolated Kinnaird estate, she is employed by the enigmatic and troubled laird, Charlie Kinnaird. I think there’s room for spirituality in science,” I countered. “I had a rigorous scientific training too, but there are so many things that science hasn’t yet explained.” Tiggy's story was so charming. The Scotland setting, and Spain setting was told perfectly. I felt myself as if shivering from cold in remote nature of highlands. And sometimes, among the vibrant environment of gypsies. On a whim, Tiggy travels to her ancestral home place to unearth the story of her grandmother, Lucia Amaya-Albaycin, one of the greatest flamenco dancers of all time. Lucia left home with her father at a young age to pursue her dream of dancing, leaving behind her mother and brothers. Lucia's skills take her all over the world, her restless nature making it hard for her to settle anywhere for long.

Riley draws magnetic and strong women…..this will delight her followers of the series but will also appeal to new readers’

The concept of the triple goddess is common in real-life mythology and may be the inspiration behind the moon sisters.

The Seven Sisters books in order

Your character Lucía Albaycín is based on the famed flamenco dancer Carmen Amaya. What made you decide to fictionalise the character, rather than write about Carmen herself? Welcome tae Kinnaird,” he announced as he pushed open the door and climbed out. I noticed he was light on his feet, considering his physical bulk. He walked round and opened the passenger door for me, then offered his hand to help me. Once more, this was a story in which the past was more interesting than the present, although I felt like this time Lucinda Riley didn't try as hard as she did with the third book to make it original. Lucia's character is basically just Carmen Amaya with some family issues glued around the corners. From New York Times bestselling author Lucinda Riley, The Moon Sister transports you to the grandeur of the remote Scottish Highlands and the gypsy caves of Granada, just as Spain descends into civil war, interweaving the stories of two women searching for their destinies, at the risk of potentially losing their chance at love.

As with every book, there will always be something that I don't enjoy, for me this book rushed a non-existent relationship with Tiggy and Charlie. They met a grand total of once before she slowly destroyed a (yes..loveless, but not the point) marriage and mooned over him. Good.” Margaret’s bright blue eyes shone like laser beams in her wrinkled face. “What did you think of the laird?” Because the Seven Sovereigns, Primordial One, and Second Who Came are not mentioned in Teyvat legends, there is no confirmation on when the moon sisters' fall — assuming they were real historical figures and not fictionalized accounts — occurred relative to the world's overall history based on Enkanomiya's records in Before Sun and Moon. It is worth mentioning, however, that both "The Funerary Year" section in Before Sun and Moon and Moonlit Bamboo Forest (III) describe their respective catastrophes as ones that toppled heaven and earth. Spanning continents and decades, this is a well-researched and compelling novel on an epic scale., Sunday Express (on The Pearl Sister)
