It's musky and animalic, but not in a pissy way. It's animalic like you could smell the fur of an animal, with all those scents around. These kind of fragrances taught me always to test in the air not the typical paper then skin type of thing Not sure where the Piss or Fecal scent that so many of you are talking about is coming from? Maybe some older formulations do have that quality to them. But anyway, this scent is masterfully composed. Unfortunately, it's not something everyone will like. Such as was my case, I have nothing but respect for the perfume and those that enjoy it, because yes, it's just that well-made. So what is it like? OTHER BRANDS SHOULD TAKE A LOOK AT THIS GEM AND STOP MAKING THOSE BULLSH... WATERED DOWN SCENTS, THAT GO A SECOND AFTER YOU SPRAY. That doesn't mean I don't love the vintage one, just that it's really challenging, reaaaaaaaally challenging in the opening and it stays like that for a good 2 hours minimum

Old school for sure and very strong, even the latest batches. Not everybody’s cup of tea, but certainly has its own appeal. I like to wear it in the late fall and winter on occasion. Base notes:Oakmoss, Amber, Incense, Honey, Leather, Civet, Musk, Tonka Bean, Vanilla Perfume Presentation You got to give them something. Something with authority. Something with the old manhood style and not bubblegums and cherries .. What a stinker. I was about to go on a steroid cycle for the gainz but putting this on for the first time increased my testosterone so much that my biceps turned into a quadriceps. Wherever Kouros touched my skin, I now grow fur-like chest hair. Asphalt roads can no longer withstand the sheer force of my feet's impact so instead of running, I wrestle bears for cardio. I can now fix car engines just by gazing at them. I recently bought some vintage bottles of Kouros, 1 x 10ml 1981 or 82 and 5 X 50ml 1999. I haven't yet received the 1981 but will update once I have, though upon smelling the 1999 and wearing it a number of times, I think a very, very similar effect can be achieved with a good base layer of sak pase and a top layer of the man silver, getting the best of both worlds. There is a slight difference which I think comes from the drydown of the man silver, but the honeyed musks really come through from the sak pase, so you have an almost authentic (though actually stronger projecting) scent at a fraction of the price. From what I have read from others who describe the very early Kouros, I wonder if they actually might be closer than this comparison. We will see.

I rushed home to rub vinegar on myself to remove the smell. I think the smell is mostly gone. This review has helped me process the trauma. It's for the hipster trend rejectors and the guys who aren't afraid to get their hands dirty or stand up for themselves. Nonetheless, I forked out big time on the stuff I do have now but I am glad that I did because as much as its great to be able to recreate a fragrance, there is nothing quite like the 'real thing' and I think this may be a bigger factor in perception than people may realise. Nonetheless, Kouros is the best fragrance I have ever, and ever will smell to be honest. It is unique and bold and I don't care if anyone else does or does not like it. KING.

Kouros est une bête, toujours présent, dépendant de la chaleur et de quantité appliquée, il peut être étouffant , trop fort , trop animal . This is just a tad sweeter version of vintage Kouros. Perhaps that sweetness comes from pineapple, maybe not. Still the camphor and incense, and of course civet are there. "Hot herbs" are there as well.

I have also heard that Kouros is a scent only for the European clientele, due to its dirty scent profile. Don’t believe that. If you like it, wear it. Performance It’s sadly a little diluted compared to my late 2019 bottle. I don’t get the animalic touch a lot as I’m used to at the drydown. And of course it’s nothing like my bottle from 2006 which last 12hours and has a smooth yet still animalic drydown. By your smell, the scent of the carefree time when neither of us knew much of the adult world or even would have been able to claim all the promises life gave us. Perfume rating - when men were men. I am a man, but somehow I see this on someone who is older than me, someone who has a gray beard.

Perfume performance - another star should be added to him...he breaks the rules of perfume, he cannot be categorized, his performances are crazy. The only thing I can compare it to is Megamare by Orto de Parisi. Amazing performance. Not only is it long-lasting, but its trace is always there with you. The intensity of the perfume sometimes leads to real nausea if you put more than you should. I recently received Kouros as a gift from my father who had worn it in his 20s. At first when I smelled this I was completely put off. I recognized it from my childhood being worn by older family friends. The bottle just sat in my room for a few weeks until one day I gave it another try. After trying it a few more times I slowly I came to love it and now its my signature. The reality is I am enjoying more and more the fragrance to the point of feeling it is a bit addictive. Not sure how other people will react but this is totally OFF when compared to todays fragrances, making it more of a signature scent than anything else to me. It´s not a polite fragrance, neither sweety or politically correct. It´s nasty, polarizing, sexy and VERY "sporty" masculine. Knowing that Kouros was inspired by Greek Gods and ancient statues, it is no wonder that nothing about this composition is subtle. Wait, there was what....A mirage? Using the EDT it is slightly different (more smokey). But in the end they all come together. The opening is beautiful.
