Description

The stand of the monitor is fairly sturdy and offers a good range of ergonomics, including up to 110mm height adjustment, -5°/15° tilt, +/- 10° swivel and 100x100mm VESA mount compatibility. It’s tough recommending it for general desktop or work use due to the massive size and OLED panel, and although the size would normally make a good option for movies, the aggressive curve and specific viewing distance can kill the mood. There are also some issues with pixel density, with an ultrawide like the Alienware 34 QD-OLED offering much better clarity despite sporting the same resolution. With an 800R curvature, tighter than your typical curved ultrawide monitor, sitting in front of the LG UltraGear 45GR95QE is a fully immersive experience. It's designed first and foremost for gaming, and we found ourselves hugely impressed with it in this regard – games fly by, looking rich and vibrant, and with barely a smear or stutter. AMD FreeSync Premium and Nvidia G-Sync support definitely helps here. We tested the monitor with titles including Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2, which are able to make full use of the width of this monitor – and there's no debate that they look superb. The only department where the monitor falls down slightly is its maximum brightness, as is often the case for OLED: it barely detracts from the visuals at all, especially with HDR (high dynamic range) content, but you will find brighter screens out there.

Even with those problems, the UltraGear OLED 45 shoots past displays like the Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 in games, providing an immersive gaming experience that other displays can’t keep up with. Screen Saver – screen turns off automatically when no movement is detected after a certain period of time In addition to being LG’s first 45-inch curved OLED gaming monitor with a 21:9 aspect ratio and WQHD (3440 x 1440) resolution, the 45GR95QE is also the company’s first-ever display to combine a 45-inch screen-size with an 800R curvature; a pairing that helps boost users’ sense of immersion. A genuine gaming powerhouse, the 45GR95QE will be displayed at IFA 2022 along with LG’s impressive 48GQ900 UltraGear OLED gaming monitor.

45GR95QE LG’s Ultragear 45” OLED Gaming Monitor - 240hz 45GR95QE

The Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 has a lot of similarities with the LG UltraGear, including the focus on gaming and the ultrawide, curved form factor. One of the key differences is that it comes with on-board apps, so you can use it as a standalone smart TV as well – and there are built-in speakers you can make use of too. mode is supported on the PS5 with HDR and VRR, while the Xbox consoles support 1440p 120Hz with VRR or 4K 60Hz HDR with VRR. Price & Similar Monitors The Xeneon Flex also has a few downsides. Its design doesn’t support VESA mounting and it’s not adjustable (tilt-only). The stand is not removable as the connectivity ports are placed there. However, Corsair should be releasing a mounting accessory in Q1 2023. Of course, there are other cheaper options worth considering as well, such as the Samsung Odyssey Neo G9, the LG OLED42C2, the ASUS PG27AQDM, the Acer X32FP and the Dell AW3423DWF– all of which offer excellent HDR image quality and smooth gaming performance.

No one could argue that the LG UltraGear 45GR95QE isn't a top-notch gaming monitor. The high refresh rate (assuming your gaming setup can do it justice), the contrast and HDR performance of this OLED panel, the low response time and input lag, and variety of input options all combine to make this one of your best options for a gaming monitor right now. Besides the standard image settings (brightness, contrast, color temperature, etc.), the LG 45GR95QE also offers 6-axis hue/saturation, color temperature fine-tuning in 500K increments, sharpness, four gamma presets, aspect ratio control, Auto Input Switch and Picture in Picture/Picture by Picture support. LG of course makes some of the best OLED TVs around, and so is looking to transfer that quality and expertise over to the gaming monitor market here. It's certainly premium in terms of its spec, and in terms of the price you're going to have to pay to get one. Dieser OLED-Gaming-Monitor weist die derzeit (Stand: Dez. 2022) schnellste Bildwiederholrate (240 Hz) und kürzeste Reaktionszeit (0,03 ms) auf.

LG UltraGear Debuts 240Hz Curved OLED Gaming Monitor at IFA

Speaking of settings, the UltraGear 45GR95QE-B has a healthy array of options within its sleek OSD menu, including various overlays, a toggle for Adaptive-sync (G-Sync compatible Freesync) settings, and ‘game mode’ presets. You’ll also be able to dial in contrast, gamma, and color settings if you’ve not got HDR switched on, and there’s picture in picture functionality too. That latter quirk is handy if you’re a streamer looking to use a console and Windows 11 on one screen, as you’ll be able to use two inputs at the same time. Assuming you crank up the brightness, there’s only one issue with the image quality: pixel density. This is a 44.5-inch display with a resolution of 3,440 x 1,440, leading to a pixel density of around 83 pixels per inch (PPI). That’s around the same level as a 27-inch 1080p monitor, and it’s a big reason why a display like the LG UltraGear OLED 48 is hard to justify.Although that’s true on paper, I wouldn’t recommend the UltraGear OLED 45 for these types of games. With the 21:9 aspect ratio, massive size, and steep curve, playing a competitive title always felt wrong. There was always too much screen to take in everything at once, regardless of how great the motion clarity really is. Jacob Roach / Digital Trends The screen does include a “anti-glare and low reflection” coating like the current 48″ OLED 48GQ900 model in LG’s OLED range. This is likely to be more suited to most people for a desktop monitor. Microsoft has just announced the latest update to Windows 11, which brings the operating system up to version 23H2. This is a cumulative update that comes with some of the most exciting features already announced in September, including Copilot, and brings some changes to Teams, among other things. LG UltraGear 45” OLED Curved WQHD 240Hz 0.03ms FreeSync and

It’s hard to overstate just how big the UltraGear OLED 45 really is. It’s a 44.5-inch monitor with a 21:9 aspect ratio, but its footprint is multiplied due to the steep 800R curve. Even compared to a display like the Asus ROG PG42UQ, the UltraGear OLED 45 feels massive.Asus Announced ROG Swift PG32UCDM with 31.5″ QD-OLED Panel, 4K and 240Hz Refresh Rate August 22, 2023 At the rear of the monitor, there’s the customizable Hexagon RGB lighting with strong enough LEDs to reflect off of the wall in a dark room. Design & Connectivity The critical difference is LG has decided on a fixed 800R curvature, and the Corsair leaves the degree of screen curve up to the user (between totally flat and approx 800R). Perhaps LG wasn’t happy with the creaky Corsair flexing mechanism, which doesn’t create a true arc, but rather a display with two flat sides plus a bend in the middle."
