There’s lots of possible reasons for line twist. I’ve had 2 sets of 7000’s and never suffered with noticeable line twist. Only thing I don't like about the affinity II's is the way the handle folds. Fine in the warmer months but it seizes up a bit in the winter. Just in case anyone is wondering, the Daiwa Emcast Advanced folding\wooden handles fit straight on these Sorry it doesn't show it folding on the vids or mention it on the brief list of features, but it's got lots of carbon fibre lol, if your on fb take a look.

Why do people bang on about Shimano and Daiwa as if they are the only manufacturers out there and all others are crap.Difficult one with fox, sure I read on here ages ago that there was problems with fox reels, they dont get mentioned a lot so that might tell you something. I messaged KP spares once as they usually cover the pure fishing stuff but they said they dont deal with reels.... Had mine a week or so now, 4 trips fishing. They are the best reels for the money I've had, not too big, but big enough. Spool good for 100 yard casting, lighter than I thought, terrific drag, and simple QD operation. I've had some of the expensive Shimanos too heavy, Daiwa too expensive, look at the crazy prices for the old kit Daiwa reels just to look a proper carper. No these are great reels and I'd guess long lasting. It isn,t as thou this brand popped up over night is it , I still have my dads old sea gear (RIP) which is Penn but some will say aaay but they don,t make them like they used to , The handles specifically the grips are the only downside I can see. If your only fishing with nice neat baiys and in the warm wether they should be fine.

Been faultless, are a joy to use. In fact I'm thinking about getting two more to go on my River Rods just read that reply ,, i,ve just messaged them asking the length of 'hexagonal' shaft ,,, they have 2 sizes listed too 16 x 5 cm and 14 x 4.5cm Perhaps you are a little heavy handed if you don't mind me saying? Also, the emcast is notoriously crap and sal****er use doesn't really relate to this topic as its a carp fishing forum. Never got wooden handles with my mark 1s. Did buy second hand, makes me wonder what the bloke did with them Please tell me it isn't because you want to fold up the handles while the rods are on the rests....?mine will be here in morning hope there as good as everyone says they are! getting rid of ma shimano LC for them :/ i dont have much left as it is lol, ill end up with just 3 penn ltd's s sat on my peg with my lines going into the water, Correct , better tooling and modern materials and computer aided manufacturing it's called progress and its by no means the worst handle ive seen, who on earth thought stainless or any metal would make a nice material for a handle is beyond me One thing to note for people that may carry out their own service procedures is that the nut that retains the bail assembley is left hand thread.

What is your take on the performance of the Penn Conrad? Because i am at my wits end trying to figure out where abouts the other reels i have owned are any better, and cost 3-4 times as much.

any chance of a couple of pics Fred, and of course a few of the boxes, if there is any literature that comes with them perhaps a couple of close ups of that too. The only reason its this version being shouted about is its a carp badged version of oje thats been available for a while now. Ok its a different colour and you get two mono spools rather than one for pe lines.
