I think what the OP was referring to is that there is less variation in body style among Sony across their different product segmentations as well as over time, than other camera brands. And oh yeah...that EVF of the Z9 offers a far better user experience than the A1...it's not even close." Capable of 15-stops of dynamic range and improved color reproduction, my first impression of the files coming out of the camera were very positive. The combination of its newly-developed 33-megapixel Exmor R sensor and BIONZ XR image processor produces high-quality, lifelike photos with a healthy amount of resolution. However, the A7 IV is clearly superior in a number of respects – some subtle but important, others obvious and highly desirable. Sony has created a successor to the A7 III that is superior in practically every way – but it’s also a lot more expensive to but at today’s prices.Muskokaphotog - "In very dim light, the monitor also creates lots of noise as it attempts to boost the brightness."

Note that you'll need to turn off Raw capture then select HEIF files, then engage 'HLG Still Image' mode if you want this to work. Simply shooting HEIF files and using the HLG picture profile won't work. Sadly you can't shoot Raw and HEIF, and there's no in-camera Raw conversion option to generate an HLG HEIF from any Raws you've shot.https://www.dpreview.com/articles/4210565040/shooting-experience-the-nikon-z9-is-the-most-dslr-like-mirrorless-we-ve-ever-seen

Sony A7 IV review | Digital Camera World

Very true ! I have 2 Sony A7 III bodies and I wanted to upgrade them next year but I will buy the A7 III body again to replace my 2 heavily used bodies as I can't justify spending so much more for the A7 IV for minimal gains. Nikon has the Z 6 II and Z 7 II which have 24.5 and 45.7-megapixel sensors respectively. While they can’t record 4K 10-bit 4:2:2 internally like Sony and Canon, they at least both have much improved rear LCD screens with 2.1 million dot resolutions. Plus, the Z 6 II can shoot up to 14 frames per second when speed matters. Should You Buy It? The D850 is still an amazingly competent camera, esp for stills. For stills photography you cannot do much better these days. The IQ is superb and the AF is also top notch. With this front dial, the two on the top and a rear dial too, you're not short of dials! (Image credit: Rod Lawton/Digital Camera World)Both cameras have twin UHS-II compatible SD card slots, but the A7 IV has a crucial difference – one of these slots can also take even faster CFexpress Type A cards. These are smaller (and ultimately slower) than the CFexpress Type B cards used by other cameras, and so far it’s only Sony that has used this smaller format – but this does help give the A7 IV its significant performance advantages over the A7 III. 12. Connectors Both cameras have 5-axis in-body stabilization, but the A7 IV boasts a slight improvement in stabilization of 5.5 stops versus 5, and it also has a new ‘Active’ stabilization mode. 5. It may also explain why even some high-end 4K LCD home theater projectors, such as my Epson 5040UB, use high-speed pixel-shift technology to get to 4K resolutions, rather than use true 4K LCD panels, since brightness is very important on a projector. This test compares the amount of random noise generated by the camera at different ISO settings as a proportion of the actual image information (the 'signal'). Higher values are better and we expect to see the signal to ratio fall as the ISO is increased. Up to 10 fps in continuous “Hi+” mode and up to 8 fps in continuous “Hi” mode. Maximum continuous shooting speed is reduced when shooting lossless or uncompressed RAW / RAW+JPEG images. Maximum fps will depend on camera settings. Sony test conditions. A fully articulating screen can be useful for waist-level shooting, vlogging or selfies. It also allows you to monitor the camera if you're using its streaming mode.
