Wireless - Would be nice if the brain comunicated with my Mac wirelessly via bluetooth or a USB dongle. Afterall, I will not be carrying the kit around to different locations on stage during a performance so it's not absolutely necessary, but nice to not have to deal with the extra cables. I own all 3 rock bands and interments from all 3 games I also have all 6 main guitar hero games games and Metallica and both drum kits for the guitar hero system as well as several different wireless guitars with and without the slide bar. If you really are serious about the game, and have the money to spend, you should check out the Ion drumset.

My 10 year old now wants to play percussion in the band when it starts next school year - I think the GH drums will keep her interest over the summer and make a good transition to a real instrument. That should be easy enough to check as I have a bunch of switches lying around, both momentary and latching. The supports under the drum heads should not have been attached to the main chassis but rather to the drum heads themselves. If 5-lane O G notes were to be played at the same time in 4-lane Drums, they would be played on blue and green pads instead. The cymbals are raised to a maximum height of about 6", and just slightly out of the direct downward range of the drum pads.

I like the look of the Logitech version, and of course the Ion's would be nice but they are a bit too expensive. With both of the major music game franchises taking two distinctly different approaches to the drum kit controller and both being supported interchangeably, it's important to kit that suits you best. This list is by no means complete, but we've done the testing ourselves, so it's accurate and 100% speculation-free. Thanks again for the advice, still leaning towards the Logitech kit for portability, but not sure about the quality of the kick pedal or whether or not it allows for custom made kick triggers or units like the roland kd-7 or kd-8. Instead of resting upon a springy mounting mechanism, the cymbals are attached to extendable plastic mounts. We've previously done escape rooms, crazy golf, bowling, etc but this was by far the most entertaining, fun, original and enjoyable activity we have done. This was a great unique experience, we did this with two people and it was still really fun but I can imagine with 6 people the energy levels and enthusiasm is even more! However, much like their real-life counterparts, the snare and tom pads must be stuck with significant force to get the full sound of the instrument. I feel the instrument was not properly packed and lacked packaging material to support it inside the box. I had an old set of Wii Guitar Hero drums hanging around and remembered that the have a MIDI OUT port on them.

But all my fears proved completely groundless, and I had an amazing experience when visiting Beatorbit with my friends. I know that I'm not going to get Roland quality performance out of these "toys," but I've seen some pretty decent youtubes of people playing around with their Rockband kits in Garageband. Each pad and cymbal is velocity sensitive, meaning that the harder you hit it the louder and more differential the tones become.I know that the Wii version of Band Hero has a completely new drum set that looks a lot different than the GHWT drum set.

You'll find real reviews of guitar hero drums that will give you all the information you need to make a well-informed purchase decision. Now I have a Roland TD-11KV, but my dad uses it more than I do, he was hating the look of it at first but when he hit the snare the first time he was on there for at least 3 hours straight LOL. He is known for being the first of two people to speak real words in cutscenes of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock cutscenes.Percussionists are picky—even the ones playing on a plastic set in their living rooms in sync to "notes" displayed on their TVs. They're great fun, but it sounds like you're looking for a way to get around the cost of serious drum MIDI controllers, and I don't think you're going to do that without giving up quite a bit. It could be fixed readily at the manufacturing level, I think, but that begs the question of units already produced. Just looking for advice from anyone who might have experience either just playing these kits with the game, or with regards to how they handle MIDI (wirelessly or wired).
